Quote from: SteveP-52 on June 10, 2019, 12:35:25 PMGot a set of Dremel carbide routering bits from Amazon, about time I finally got to inletting and refinishing the Striker stock I got from gendoc to fit one of my Webley VMX .20's into. Routering part and test fit is actually already done, now for the refinish.......I've got a Dremel for sanding/polishing sear surfaces, it came with a few accessories that I've never used. I've done cabinet work, frames, crown molding, routing, but never any stock inletting.

Quote from: avator on June 11, 2019, 08:57:13 PMCongrats Dan.Thanks, It is always more fun when we get good news. None of my kids were perfect, neither are the grand-kids, and they make mistakes all the time, bigger mistakes when they get older. Being a great reader will make learning everything else in his school so much easier. I would tell any parent that wants their child to have an advantage, reading and early vocabulary before reading is by far the most important things you can help with. I remember when my oldest grandson was a toddler my son and daughter in-law use to lay in bed with him each night teaching him new words to say and their meanings and usage, his kindergarten teacher was blown away with his vocabulary and all his teachers after that were too! I have never been fond of grammar and rules of English but do read a lot.
Congrats Dan.

Don't even have the gizmo to stick the Dremel in to use it for routing, I did it free hand in steps to make sure I didn't go too far. It's not pretty, but it will work for the shelf inside the stock the pin on the 2 piece cocking arm needs to ride on to be able to cock the rifle. Once done and back together, no one's gonna see my hack job...lol.

(cc. 1978). I learned a lot, one thing is that finish carpenters can hide a world of things. And yes, no ones sees the rough work.
Don, why not coil it in a bucket of ice?
We have a local 'odd lots' type flea market joint here. They sell these 5 cf chest freezers for around $100. Pretty sure many of us spend $100 quite often on upgrades and mods. Why not cut a couple small holes in one and coil as much copper tubing inside as possible. Then use the rest of the space for bags of ice to be used in your home, you know, to chill your favorite beverage... Exit that copper coil to your 5 gal bucket of water to feed your compressor which could sit on top of the freezer? That is, for those of you planning to fill tanks. For filling guns, I've never needed more than the 5 gal bucket of water... matter of fact, I've even used the large Folger's coffee container. After 5 or 6 fills I just changed the water from a gallon of water kept in the fridge.
