I personally use Obenaufs heavy duty LP on my work boots, belts , and knife sheaths...ect.

I'm not sure any form of softening is really going to loosen this up much, I think I'll just let it break in.

About 25 years ago when I lived in town my Kids had a Calico Cat that was catching fish and bring them home. We had no idea where they were coming from. Then one day the girl from down and across the street came to our house furious because it was her fountain pond in there yard that she had stocked with some fish they caught at the lake. When she saw that the cat was getting them she decided the solution was to get a large tropical "shark" from the local pet store for $80 to take care of the cat, the cat apparently thought it was just tasty as the lake fish. I told her sorry but I can't keep the cat from eating fish.

Seen a guy on TV that put chicken wire over his fish pond to keep cats and other critters out. Seems birds of prey were his main problem.

I used Fiebings black leather dye, would have went with brown but I already had the black from the belt I made for work.

Looking online it comes with a test plug, accessory pack with spanner wrench and 2 rebuild kits. Hopefully the box has instructions... whats the worst that can happen? Its already broke.

Does it have 2 folding feet? I would just take a board and screw the remaining one down to the board (drill a hole on the foot nearest to the pump). This way you can still use it.

Spent a good bit of time watching videos on installing HPA or alternate CO2 sources for my Hammerli 850.

The 88 gram CO2 tanks are working well for me (I think). I'm only getting about 625-675 FPS for my 7.0-8.64 grain pellets; but, that's still fine for what I'm doing. My biggest concern is how long a 88 gram tank stays active in the gun. I'm afraid that I'll cause o-ring deterioration. So, I've investigated several alternatives, from single 12 gram carts with 88 gram threads, Umarex 2 cart converter, refillable CO2 tanks, or even changing over to HPA. What an education! Whew.

ATM, I'm happy to shoot out the supplies I have and then probably invest in the 88 to 12 (2) carts converter from Umarex. Reviews have been consistently good, and the big benefit is that it's removable so that I don't have to leave the gun with CO2 connected 24/7 until I run the tank out.

Also, I'm putting together a sundry list of what else to order to get the PA free shipping deal.

What a fun hobby this is, I also like the fact that the camera that I've been using was only $30 (parts camera) for the ancient well used identical camera that died on me after about 15 years.

I use a Sony DSC H50, what happened is I bought a camera that needed a display that had been cracked and my old one had a good display. The one that I bought looked cosmetically excellent so I figured that it didn't have much use before the display was cracked and it ended up being well worth the $30 that I paid for it, it's like a brand new camera now.

Well, I ordered a 1077W from Crosman site last Wednesday afternoon, then went to amazon and ordered the Winchester 4x32AO scope for it. Good scope for low to mid-power air rifles, since the objective can be focused down to 15ft! Picked up a couple sets of Weaver classic 1" mid-rise dovetail rings for some 7 bucks each at Walmart yesterday. Transaction complete on the rifle overnight, after waiting since Wednesday. So much for Monday delivery, darn it. I've been itching to get my hands on one of these Ruger 1022 copies. Same box clip/rotary magazine combo as well in .177. Wood stock is purty with the blued steel. I also spent the last 2-3 days explaining to some newbie's about how to read an exploded diagram when they got stuck reassembling their air rifles after tuning/repairs. I always mention to them to remember their high school blueprint reading from industrial arts.

Looks fun, I didn't know crosman still made these.

Be warned though, the grip of the stock looks pretty similar to that of the 2260 stock and they're horribly fat and blocky.
I doubt even Paul white would find this grip comfortable.
You seem to have some decent skill refinishing wood though so I'm sure you'll have it looking nice if you do reshape it.

Started taking the Steel Storm apart today. Gonna make it full auto by dumping the 6 shot timing gear.
While apart I may see about a longer barrel.
Already have the bulk fill adapter and may go to HPA as I have a compressor and a few tanks to play with.

Not much so far. Just put together a breech for the carbine build. It will be sent to Roy at mountain air to convert to 30 cal. I also did a little work on 2 .177 cal marauder mags so the JSB 16.2gr pellets fit better.
