What airgun related did you do today?

Maiden climb with the Chinese Half Body Harness and poor man's saddle hunting kit.  I only used 3 sticks so about 9.5' to the platform and my rangefinder said 15' to my eye level.  Hung the bag using the Lineman's rope once I reached final height.  I need to finalize how to hang my Pea-shooter and improve my pull up rope system.  The sticks seem to want to ride two on each side of the bag and the platform fits inside the bag.  After several forced marches with the climbing stand, this rig felt like nothing on my back.  Today's public land was Rich Mountain Cartecay River Tract.  I also want the suspenders for walking/hiking in.  More optimizing will be fun.  I felt very comfortable and secure.  Saw several position angles, but didn't try the back to tree yet.  I also hugged the tree with my thighs so I may not need kneepads...

Got the k98 back to a tight ES or so it seems. I won't trust it until trying over a few more days. Instead of 15 fpe, it's at 14 fpe or around 850 fps with ftts. Although in the past I went for more power, the sound at 850 with a rocker1 is noticeably quieter than 880 or 900. If it stays tight by the numbers and proves accurate as I know it can be, I'm good at this tune for a while. Heck, maybe 850 will do better at longer ranges as some folks claim.  Might try. For now, it's 50ft target shooting, chasing those one hole groups.

I was going to tune my 30 cal armada with the 54 gr h&n slugs I got but once again it had leaked pretty far down. I saw a little discoloration on the drop block which led me to believe that was the leak. After dismantling and putting 90 duro orings on it the gun began acting funny. By funny I mean the regulator seemed to have self adjusted on me. I had Hajimoto set it at 2500 psi and it was showing well above 3000 psi yesterday when I refilled it. So the next step is to degas and lower the reg pressure. I'm so anxious to get this gun set up and shooting that these little set backs are all that much more disappointing.

That's a bummer, Chris.  My Akela has a leak and the easy things didn't proce to be it.  I don't have the heart or patience to take it apart searching for knicked orings, but for me it's a new thing.  Haven't broken down the pcps much except the avenger.  I hope your Armada gives you some consistency soon.

Thanks. It has been a lesson in patience. I'm almost to the point of paying someone to get it sealed and tuned. It has a ton of potential to be a great gun.

 I made some breech seal shims for my Hy-Score 815 and other various Diana pistols.
Not allowed anytime for airgun related stuff lately, but at least I got to do that, weeeee.

I was all set to reseal and  re-assemble the Smith and Wesson 79G.   I put the new valve stem someplace where I couldn't possibly lose track of it.   That plan didn't work out but I know it's here someplace.   It'll turn up right after I buy another one.    At least all the parts are nice and clean and ready for assembly.

I got off work early today so I'm filling the new 6.8 liter I got on cyber monday

Finally got around to resealing and reassembling my Smith and Wesson 79G.   The trigger originally was unbearably awful so I cut 2 and a half coils off the trigger spring and carefully polished the trigger and hammer.  It's a lot better now but is still not exactly wonderful.   I don't believe the primitive S&W 79G trigger can be ever be tweaked to be as nice as a decent target gun trigger.   

 I used  a Crosman 1322 valve stem ($4.88) instead of a S&W 79 valve stem ($30.00).   I had to cut the Crosman valve stem to the right length, took a few minutes with a dremel.    So now it's up and shooting, there's no extra parts laying around and it seems to be holding pressure.   I'll see if it's still holding pressure tomorrow and maybe I'll get around to a chrono test one of these years.   I'll be better able to judge the improved trigger after a few hundred shots.

Continued trickling aquarium gravel down a straw through the leather feeder tube of my rear rabbit-eared sandbag. I started it last night, added more today, and still have to add more to the bottom portion plus each of the two ears. Each one has its own feeder tube.

Like watching paint dry, yup. The gravel bits block the straw when they are big and angular.

It should be filled in the next two days ---> ready for use when the weather turns rainy/snowy/windy/cold on Christmas.

   I tested my new Serpent Arms GX4 compressor, running it off my truck battery to top off my GK1, works like a charm fast for as quiet it is .
 I also began my gun room renovation, baby steps so far but it is progress
