Prod question about regulator or ss valve

With the p-rod. If your trying to get a very large number of shots at a nice power level, say 700-750fps with 14-16gr pellets. And trying to keep the bell curve as flat as possible.
Would a regulator be better or a SS valve?
Would the tranfer port need to be drill out? If so what size hole?
Thank you

I want the same thing. Right now my P-rod is stock except for a twin spring FFH mod I made. I am getting almost 4 mags at 650-670fps. The problem with my twin spring hammer is cocking the gun. You don't have to move the bolt far but it is a bear. I will be ordering a SS valve this week. I will be inquiring about a 700fps lots of shots tune. Seems like most guys are focused on turning the P-rod into a one mag wonder cannon. I have a Leshiy for that. The direction you and I want to go with the SS valve does not seem to be a popular one but I bet JSAir will get us pointed in the right direction. I don't expect the shot string to look like I have a reg in it, and that's fine because I don't want a regulator in this gun. Three mags at 700fps with easy cocking and no drilling, I think its possible.

There's a few that have tried a regulator in them but it hasn't been too positive with the SS valve and regulator both. For the 8 shots I've got mine tuned for I really wouldn't even want a regulator in it, it shoots perfect and doesn't take much to fill it back up.

SS valve will yield you more shots at a higher velocity than a modified valve will with a regulator. I wouldn’t use a regulator with the SS valve it will for one eat up precious volume that the Prod doesn’t have second the SS valve doesn’t respond well with reg pressures below 2k

Travis of all the guns that I have the Prod is one of my favorites, I'll definitely be in the raffle for the one that Dez is putting together.

Same here Wayne it’s just so light and compact and with the SS valve it really has a bite also.
