Fortitude breech question

From the  pictures I've seen, the Fortitude looks like its breech is similar to the P-rod breech, but also comes in .177. If this is the case, shouldn't it be possible to put it on a 1720 or 1701? I have wanted a multi shot 1720 for a while now, and I am thinking this may finally make it possible. Anyone know?

The mounting arrangement is a bit different.   The screws holding the breech to the air tube are not in the same location.   Would have been great for interchanging otherwise.

As Craig said, it won't work on a 1720T or 1701P.

What I think will work, is a Prod breech and bolt lug, along with a Fortitude 177 bolt.  You will need to modify slightly a Mrod 177 mag and add a small spacer to back of breech.  I have done it twice, but need to make a 177 bolt from prod. 

For a barrel, need the o-ring groove machined in or use a mrod 177 barrel.  The Fortitude barrel should work, and can be more easily modded for different lengths.   

My replacement 177 Fortitude is waiting for me to get home, which will not be until end of the month.  I'll confirm the above fortitude parts (bolt and barrel) when I can,

Well, bummer. I'm working on a 1701 carbine rat gun, and this would have been the perfect cherry on top.

Now, when the Fortitude breech does become available, a machinist could put in the two breech screw holes to match the Prod/1720/1701 spacing.  I have been thinking of having that done on my Prod based rifles. 

That rat gun would be cool and quieter with the larger dia Mrod shroud.

I'm already on that - I have an adapter for the Crosman barrel that will accommodate a screw on LDC. Just need to decide on an AR stock and I should be good to go.

I did find out today by accident really the pressure tube is the same as the maximus so a fortitude breech will bolt right on a maximus.

Not unless they have added the two front breech screw holes.  Not hard to drill your own, but would also need the fortitude valve.

John is correct I had two fortitude guns apart on the bench i thought one was from a maximus
