Break Barrel vs. Fixed Barrel (R7 vs. 1322 carbine or Marauder pistol carbine)

Are fixed barrel guns any easier to shoot accurately?  Especially comparing a multi pump or PCP to a springer.

Want to order a new gun to share with my daughter, but want her to be able to shoot it well.  Is the R7 going to be harder for her to learn on that a good modded 1322 carbine, or Marauder pistol carbine?  She's 12 years old. 

The 1322 is the least appealing, as I think it may be hard for her to pump.  Any help appreciated.

I have never had a fixed barrel springer but I would go with the Marauder pistol carbine. Springers are a little more difficult to master and you want her to build confidence. The Prod is very easy to shoot, very accurate, light enough for a smaller shooter and FUN !!

A PCP/COČ airgun will be a lot easier for her to master.
In any case with a break barrel or fixed barrel she could have trouble cocking the gun (arms lenght) and, of course, the artillery hold

I can share my experience with the HW30/R7 and my average-sized daughter

At 12 years old, my daughter wanted me to cock the HW30 (R7) for her, although she could cock it with difficulty on her own.  She could shoot the HW30 well.  She chose to carry the lighter 880 afield in the early years.

At age 13 she could handle the HW30 on her own, and it has become her rifle of choice.

I can't speak with much experience about PCP and CO2 guns, but I see how they might meet your needs.

Of the guns listed the Marauder pistol carbine is probably the easiest to shoot - if you've got the budget for it.  Remember it's not as stand alone and will require a pump or tank to charge it.
A fixed barrel springer, by its nature, is usually heavier and harder to handle than a break barrel.  They are not generally any easier to cock than a break barrel.  They are marginally more accurate than a break barrel and not any easier to shoot. 

For short range you may wish to look into a CO2 powered gun.  They are easy to shoot accurately.

We are starting pretty much from scratch.  I have owned a few break barrels in the past - HW30s quite a while ago, and a D34 that was bigger and heavier than I expected.

Now that I look - I think the cost of gun plus pump is going to put us out of the PCP arena.

Marc, a 2400KT from the Crosman Custom shop would be perfect. CO2, very light and very accurate. Not too loud, especially with a Rocker1 or TKO. Get it with open sights and or scope it.

Umarex developed and sells a youth-oriented springer called Embark plus same rifle by other names. Several reviews can be found. Could offer introduction and later transition to more expensive, bigger airguns down the road.
