We all love to show off our Kings and Queens of our airgun livery. But what about those Utilitarians... you know, "Truck guns"... the Underdogs so to speak. Who cares if it gets a ding or two... it's a TOOL made to get the job done. It's cosmetics is NOT an issue. It has never been protected buy a hard case, maybe a soft case. Here is mine. A Crosman 1000X I picked up off Craigslist a couple years ago. She was rough but I removed the surface rust with oil and 0000 steel wool then gave her a good lube. Now it is a "shooter" and a fine one at that.Heck, I have put more money in pellets down it's throat than what it cost me originally. I did upgrade the original CP scope to a Kruger 3x9-32 AO but even that was a whopping $20 bargan from the lot of 4 I got off ebay back when that was hot. Less that $100 all in for an accurate, anvil solid springer that hits where I aim out to 20 yards or so. When it is miserable out, and I just gotta get some range time, or a random critter shows up somewhere. She is called into action and usually rides behind the fold down back seat of the truck.Who cares if it gets wet, I will wipe it down with an oiled cloth and be ready for next time.
$50 gun, $20 scope... you shoulda seen the rust on her when I got it. Looking at the pic, the barrel droop is rather obvious.
I've seen a jig out there that someone made for straightening barrels. May be worth it.....it is nice looking.
I will when I hit 20 posts.
