I've yet to read any bad reviews on the Taipan Veteran, but the rear cocking is a deal breaker for me. I once had an Gen 1 Mrod and put a Maddog bullpup conversion kit on it, foolishly giving no thought to the bolt location for a lefty. I eventually modified the breech and moved the bolt to the left side but I never liked the extreme rear cocking location. If not for that I'd be all over the Taipan based on all the positive posts I've read about it. Justin, you hit the nail on the head, is the EDgun worth $500-$600 more? Although speculation on my part, I tend to agree with you about the cocking lever, since the WC is both relatively short and light, the cocking lever PROBABLY isn't an issue and I actually might prefer it on the right. I do like the idea of not removing my hand from the trigger.

It will be much easier to manipulate than a bolt, and I haven't seen anyone who wasn't able to adapt to the rear side lever of the Veteran

Thanks Paul,I take it you own both, if so could you comment on shot counts and power adjustments between the two? I've also read that the EDgun barrel needs cleaning frequently, as in every 100-150 shots. Is that correct? I personally like the looks of the Vulcan2 better than the R5M (slightly), but I'll take function over looks every time. Being easy to work on is also very appealing.
