Hey Airgunhunter73, fellow Missouri native! What caliber is your K1, looks to be 25? How long have you had it? Do you have the 500 rounds through this rifle yet? The manufacturer claims that it takes up to 500 to break the gun in and was wondering if that is what you noticed. Thanks

Coolhand, i made my own swaging dies. you can buy swaging dies from Huben but its as expensive as Corbin swaging dies. once you have your Huben, i can send you some of my pellets to try out, you can buy my dies at 1/2 of what they charge. the NOE mold i got were undersized at .250 head and base of .252. i would get the boattail 51 grains at .253 head and .255 base if i were you.
   where did you place an order for the huben? i know AoA has them in stock, why wait? yes the Huben .25 can push 34 grains at 1000fps, i am shooting 56 grains at 830fps to conserve air and its as much powerful as above 80FPE. the 34grains are not stablized since its got a shorter pellet body, grouping 5 inches at 20 yards because new Hubens got faster twist rate. i might have to hollow the base and extend its body length. there is a lot you can do with swaging its slow but precise and looks better than cast.
 
 Airgunner i would love to see a group post, it seems MP mold doesnt have .25 molds yet. still waiting on a group buy. so your huben  is 22?

I got mine in September 2016 it's a 22cal had a problem of it not shooting found it was a leaking seal or oring I have a friend who works on them fix it, I have since shot 600-700 rounds of JSB 34 and the 35gr cast boolit I haven't noticed a change in it yet I really need to get it out an shoot it more but filling to 4200psi uses up a lot of air so Ive been shooting my other rifles more. I now have a yong heng compressor so filling it is easier so I'll be shooting it more.

 any shot groups? i just got a Young Heng compressor too, makes life easier. i really want to get a 12volt 4500psi compressor also, but its expensive.

At AOA, they don’t have any more 25 in stock. So you have the 25, not happy that you are not getting any long range out of your rifle. Was really hoping for the accuracy for hunting. Maybe I’ll just cancel the order if they didn’t get it right. Thanks for the heads up.

i havent tried long range shooting yet. so dont conclude accuracy on long range yet. i am guessing 2 inch groups are adequate at 100yards since i am getting 1/2 inch in 20yards. 56 grains going at 850fps (max 899fps with 19mpa)can drop significantly at 100yards. I still have to play around with my swaging die a bit. i pushed the 34 grains to 1025fps, but i need to refine its shape to stablize it for long range. Dome head is for short range. 3/4 head or bullet heads should work better at longer ranges.
 i would get the .22 if i were you. larger isnt always better. with huben in .22, you will still get 70 fpe and have more already made pellets, casting and swaging dies available. just do it and never look back.
  if i have to hunt anything. i would shoot within 75 yards...there is stalk hunting and there is sit and hunting. which one you do is up to you but i recommend stalking. attached is a 5 shot group with a flyer for my other 56 grain pellet with thinner base band. its actually better accuracy when measured with calipers.

Thanks for the candid response. I guess I can take my time to decide on which path to take.Really like to pour my own bullets anyway so may wait for the 25. So you think that the bullets need to be in the .255 range to get good grouping, I guess that goes along with what was the initial accuracy problems of the .22 when it first came out. Hopefully you will keep us posted on your trials of your .25! I prefer to stalk hunt also. Where I hunt it is very dense hardwoods, so 30 yards is pretty much the limit.

I thought that Gregor K. had indicated that the newest generation was shooting pellets with very good accuracy.   Is this not the case?

well fellows here's some groups I shot with the Huben K1 22 today, I'm very disappointed in my shooting and the cast boolits didn't do well at all this but I haven't cleaned the barrel since I bought it new. Was getting a little wobble out of my shooting table for the 53 yard target.

Airgunhunter73 are you sizing the cast bullets ? The JSB don’t look too bad at 50 . Looks like either the POA or POI was changed after the first few shots . We’re these shot from a bag or rest?

I shot them off a rest but my table moved on me some an I was trying to adjusted my aim point to compensate for it, I'll be going to the shooting range next week we have stable concrete shooting benches wish I had a better bench at the house.

I think at 30 yards you can pretty much punch a Hog in the skull with the Huben no problems. Airgunner got some good groups at 25 yards. AoA test target is also the same, see below. pellets do work well in the huben so no worries there. i didnt have 34 grains but the 25 jsb didnt do so well. even 2 inch at 50 yards is not that bad. i need to make lots of bullets and go to a range this Sunday. ill post back some groups at 50-100 yards. i am confident my swaged bullets can perform adequate for hunting...dont know about hitting a fly at 50 yard though. id do that with my other pcps. Coolhand, the Huben .25 needs to be minimum .254 sized bullets. i sized a .255 bullet and couldnt fit in the magazine. the rear of the mag has clearance for .258 for pellet skirts but the front is tapered at .254 matching the groove of the barrel. I am currently making hollow base with the .258 band and will see how it performs later on.

 airgunner i thought the 34grain MP bullets should be the most accurate according the Gregory. i still see clusters in your group that indicates good shots if it were 10 or 5 shot groups.

darkchriisma thanks for your input the first shot was in the bullseye and then a flyer, I have them sized but I didn't weigh and separate them I just pulled them out of the container and shot them so maybe I need to do that and see if it helps, I'll see if I can clean the barrel also but the jsbs seem to do ok maybe they need a little more speed to?

try it out, i have seen Gregory pushed the Jsb pellets above 900fps and they did great at 100 yards.

Just had a look at the Huben disassembly video. If you inserted a 3mm shim in between the barrel frame and the rear of the action, then you could use a 14mm magazine drum that would fit most of the .22/.224 cast bullets out there - that is if someone would make such a drum ...

Edit, that is if the air reservoir nose is long enough to still seal at the actual breech ...

A longer magazine would be very good.

However, the Neilsen .223 36 grain is .388" long......so there is still some more room to go longer (for flat base designs) with the existing 11mm depth magazine.

So, anybody have more to say about the Hubin? I'm kinda interested in one but more for the power and accuracy than it being simi auto. Never really had any simi auto pb except of course for the Ruger 10/22 . The rest were either bolt action or wheel guns. Is there anything else that compares that isn't Simi auto.

I'm wondering at least two things:

1. How Huben K1 .22 would do with heavier slugs.

2. How huben K1 would do with a higher refresh rate regulator (e.g. Lane regulators come with 4mm O.D. seat compared to the typical 1mm O.D. seat) in terms of ES and also power. Apparently the refresh rate of the stock regulator (coupled to the rather small looking stock plenum seen in the teardown videos) is holding back how fast each shot can be made before velocity drop happens:





So yes....a quicker refresh rate regulator (like the Lane regulator or one with even bigger seat that can also accurately position the regulator valve) would be interesting.

Or a bigger plenum like you have.

P.S. I think the higher refresh regulator would be nice because it goes along with idea of the compactness and lightweight.
