New to Wisconsin, where to shoot?
« on: August 12, 2018, 10:29:38 AM »
Hey all, I just moved to MKE, living downtown. Was living in South Florida previously. Over there I could go out to the conservation areas out by the Glades and shoot for hours. Is shooting allowed in state parks or forests? Anyone willing to give me any tips? I really miss shooting since I've moved. Thanks.

Welcome to Wisconsin.

There is a great air gun club just south of you in Bristol, Wisconsin, about a 45 minute drive. The name of the club is Badgerland Air Gun Association (BAGA). A great group to shoot with. The air gun club is part of the Bristol Shooting Range. BAGA is open for shooting every Saturday, with the range opening at 9:00 AM.

The BAGA facility includes a shooting range out to 90 yards, and an excellent field target trail in the woods. We have both freestyle and hunter field target divisions. Out next field target match is September 15th. We have several top shooters in the club that are eager to help you improve your shooting.

During the Winter months we use the indoor range (10 meter and 30 yards) every Saturday.

PM me if you have any questions. We would love to have you join us.

By the way, I have a 50 yard range at my house (about 30 minutes south of Milwaukee), that you are welcome to shoot at. PM me if you are interested.

I am not sure about the air gun hunting regulations in Wisconsin, but you might want to PM Brian at BAGA, and he may be able to help you. His GTA PM is Boomer75.

Here is a map of shooting ranges, no target shooting on public hunting grounds.

Fred did give you a lead to some of the best shooters to hang with also  ;)

Wheretoshoot.org is a great source for finding ranges anywhere.  Give it a try.  ;-) Jim.
