When I got mine it was shooting around 930 and I was getting pass throughs on squirrels at 110 yards. Even turned down to 880ish it still has some thump. This is an aluminum skillet shot at 160 yards.

I have noticed that my veteran does not have set screw on top of the breech to hold the barrel in place. I'm guessing by the small flats on the barrel (presumably to use a wrench) that the Vet. barrels are screwed directly into the breech instead of pushed in and held by set screws?

Rail added. Drilled 9/64 holes and partially tapped 10-24. Used 10-24 x 3/4" button head machine screws to attach the BT17. Ready to rock and roll

Shot a feew 50 yard groups this afternoon. Umm, yeah... not so great

I think it just needs a good barrel cleaning as the previous owner was shooting lubed 34gr through it before I got my greasy mitts on it. Also keep in mind it was my first time shooting the gun

Bottom left group is very nice under .5" so the gun will do it. All the other groups were right around an inch except that one wild shot (not sure what happened). I am confident with time and a good barrel scrubbing she'll be a tack driver like the rest! Waiting on some barrel o rings in the mail before I clean the barrel in case I wreck the o ring.

First 5 shots were getting close to zero then the 4- 5 shot groups. I shot my last 15 shots over the chrony just to see if I can squeeze 40 shots per fill and it looks likle I can. Fps is just starting to rise coming off the reg the last 5 or 6 shots. Also only filled to 240bar so with a full 250bar fill I should be good to go. The gun uses about 20bar per magazine (10 shots).

Anti-double load is sweet and works awesome. Nice to be able to de-cock the gun if you decide not to take the shot and then just cock it again when you're ready to fire. The mag only indexes if the gun is fired. I could do the same with my Edgun but had to remember to switch the mag. index lever back and forth, on and off. With the Taipan it's automatic for dummies like me

Sadly he didn't though. He said he bought it from Tony, adjusted the hammer spring to shoot Jsb 34gr and shot maybe 1/2 tin of pellets through it thats all. Basically a new gun (and it looks the part )

It is shaping up to be, thanks Jimmy! Looking forward to shooting it some this weekend.

FYI, I was using lubed Jsb kings and got a lot of fliers with them and have since cleaned my barrel thoroughly and switched to straight Jsb Kings out of the tin. Groups have been MUCH better with a lot less fliers. It is an accurate gun and those few groups I shared don't do it justice.

Still loving my .25 short, it is the ultimate pest gun, short and sooo quiet with Donny's Tatsu on the muzzle. Sound of a chipmunk getting its cranium cracked is so loud it echoes compared to the soft hiss of the shot. Enjoy the heck out of it!

Read this and the other forums over the last year about all kinds of air guns, but PCP's in particular. Every gun had issues and quality control problems of some sort, some more than others. All it seems but the Taipan. I just kept reading glowing reviews by very satisfied owners, many with awesome collections of other high-end PCP's as witnessed by their inventory lists in their signatures. Almost all had references to the Taipan as "my go-to gun" or "my favorite".

And then Jason starts handing me my butt in the 50-yard matches with his .22 Veteran. Not that I was previously winning them. No, far from it, but each of his two-pellet bulls were almost hole-on-hole. Seldom were they as c-t-c bloated as mine. Then Motorhead's reference in a thread to the Taipan's .22 CZ barrel being "scary accurate". That sealed the deal. So my path was set a couple of months ago. I was just in denial since then. I held out two months waiting for the .22 Veteran to come into stock. Still hasn't. (But, eventually, it will.

) Shouldn't have subjected myself to that stress. I have had much greater buyer's remorse on air guns costing a fourth of what a Taipan costs. Strangely, I have had none buying this .25 Veteran. This is going to be a very fun Fall!

I'm not sure 100% if my .25 Veteran was tuned in any way, but I'm not planing to move a screw. Justin, if you are reading, do you know?

I was reading and a couple of people are saying the regulator comes from the factory a bit too high (at around 150br), that's why when you come off regulator the FPS increases tremendously. Well, having around 40 shots regulated looks pretty good to me. Originally I was researching the Cricket, I read you can get way more shoots with the cricket but then Justin posted his Veteran in the classified section and I jumped right away (I'm not as strong)

This is my first PCP, my TX200 is as accurate but at close range, past 50 yards and I won't pull the trigger, I needed something like this Taipan for the hunt.

I have just used the Taipan in the backyard, max I can shoot is 40 yards, and I think the gun does better than me. I'm used to the weight of the TX200 and this gun is so light compared with the TX that I noticed how hard is to keep the cross hair still, I need to improve my holding

. The first shot I did took my surprise, the trigger!!!! WOW I read the triggers in the bullpups are not as good compared with the rifle version, well I think this trigger can compare with the best out there.

The rifle is also really easy to work, when I received, it all happened so fast that Justin forgot to switch the cocking lever to the right, and he sent Ernest video on how to do it and I was able to switch in less than 10 mins.

These are basically my "first impressions" I'm just learning the gun, I have a DonnyFL Sumo moderator coming, not because is needed, the gun is backyard friendly but I want it to be super quiet for my hunt.
