Randall...There are Norway rats in Minnesota...leastwise that is what I have read.     I just haven't seen any around my place yet.  There are all sorts of predators that live in the woods around my home so I am thinking ..... that they are real cautious... especially at night. 
I have some (rodent-strength) sleeping pills that are all set and ready to go if I do see one.               My Best Wishes  -  Tom

Carl...What a Concept !        That's a great Idea !         The problem is I'm short a few pistols and I don't see them for $13 & $15 every day.

Me Too......Randall !        I have some 25cal Pollymags...all saved up..just for that occasion.    I also have a tin of 25cal Benjamin Destroyers.
( Benjamin doesn't make the 25cal Destroyers anymore because of inaccuracy but at 15 yards they are DEVASTATING !

That was some great shooting at tough targets with those short pumpers Tom! Like others have said; glad the white stuff is gone so you can finally enjoy your pumpers. Here in NM the weather has been in triple digits. Not much to shoot at during the day other than diamond backs.

Thank You Marty.     With triple digit temps, I would think that the Diamond Backs would be laying low in the shade during the hottest part of the day.     

The last week or so, we have been having 70's to 80's during the day with the temps falling to the low 60's & high 50's at night.
It is 66 F right now with 83 % humidity.  We are supposed to get rain each day this week until Wed.

This is true, even the rattlers are in the shade during the day. It's the evenings extra precautions are needed. They'll fan their bodies on boulders, graveled & paved roads to absorb as much heat as possible for the night when temps in the desert can get surprisingly cool. I learned this the hard way. Jogging on a two lane asphalt road, didn’t realize he was there until I was on him. That next stride was like being shot out of a canon. Must have jumped 8’ over the top of him.

However, for chippers I would highly recommend you mounting one of these bad boys to the front of the tractor for greater efficiency.
