'96 Benjamin 392PA

I took this gun out the other day & gave it a visual once over. I’m not sure why but I never noticed how pristine this gun is so I wanted to share a few pix. It was an eBay purchase so knock on wood.
 
For some reason or other the 392PA’s & 397PA’s seem to take a back seat to the “P’s” but what makes these models unique is they maintained the same “old” or “P Style” trigger & the same soldered valve through ’97. Sometime in ‘97 Crossman introduced the “Trigger Pack” or “Trigger Group” which are most noticeable by a “Cross-bolt Safety” next to the trigger. Another noticeable difference is that walnut was used through ’97 which was no longer used after ’98.
 
This “PA” also holds its own out on the range next to the “P’s” with avg. FPS of 642 & an avg. 13.9 FPE, & is just as accurate.

That's a beautiful rifle!  I don't see any difference between your rifle and my '94 397P, which is in very similar condition. I absolutely love it.  Beautiful wood, fabulous trigger, and very accurate with the Williams peep sight.  It's a keeper, for sure!

I agree, those 397's are as good as it gets in a .177 pumper.

So this is a new find?  Way to go Marty!  I'd say that "PA" version is exactly the same as the "P" versions. 

Might even be (or will become) more valuable because they are unlike the "PA" versions to come just a little later, making these some really rare guns.

Are you going to get a Sheridan hand guard for it?

No it isn’t a new find. I’ve had it for a couple of years just never paid that much attention to it til now. For some reason or other I always considered him the blue sheep of the family, taking a back seat to my other 392P’s & Dan’s.  After looking him over a little closer he’s risen in the ranks as one of the best pumpers I have. Everything about him looks brand new right down to the blued/ painted barrel. It looks so fresh you can almost smell it.

Huh, I usually avoided PA listings... Thought the Cast trigger group, Cross-bolt safety was what made the "PA" verses the "P". Since I already have a modern 392
