HW30s Deluxe trouble

  I got my new HW30 Deluxe today.  I went to install the insert in the cocking arm. I did not have the proper punch to remove the pins so I decided to put it back together until I could get it done correctly.  I have not been able to get the barrel screw back in.  It goes all the way through but does not line up with the threads. Ir is off by a tiny bit. I do not dare put too much pressure on the barrel joint to start it.  Any HELPFUL suggestions?

on a few of my guns i would have to kind of half way cock it to get the hole to line up better to get bolt to fit.if not i would never get it to align.then on some the bolt just slip right into place no problems.good luck!

Ditto here.  Have you tried breaking the breach open to relieve stress on the block and linkage?  It might line up better.

Bud your gonna have to cock the rifle to reinstall the bolt because you didn't remove the main spring or remove the the main spring and problem solved, stick the bolt back into the hole as far as you can without getting the threads in the hole they go in and cock it be careful do not bump the trigger in any way, once its cocked and locked you'll be able to install the bolt, then take it outside put a pellet in close it up and shoot it and then put it all back together!

That's what I figured I would have to do next.  I had looked at several sights about adding the insert. Not one suggested that the spring needed to be removed first.  If I had known I would have either used my spring compressor or sent it back. A $350+ gun should not need to be disassembled and parts added so that it will not self distruct.

Got it back together. It shoots beautifully. The trigger is just right for me. If it wears out where the cocking rod rubs, so be it. I put some moly on it and let it go.

good to hear but sorry to hear you had all the problems you had!

  It appears that I lost a nut that is used by the rear trigger guard screw. The screw was loose when I removed it so I don't know if the nut actually had been there. I checked all around my work area and did not see anything. It's hard to find something when you don't know what it looks like.

it a small nut and its probly inside the trigger group, sometimes they fall down inside where you can't see it or look every where you had the rifle

 Still no trigger guard screw but it is one sweet shooter. 620fps with CPHP, 633 with JSB Exact.
