OK, I know "High End" is subjective so I will try to be more explicit.
The majority of my Airguns cost $200 or less. But my jewel on the crown is my AA S400 SL FAC that I bought from Don here on GTA. A little research found it has had 4 owners who obviously took GREAT care of it. This is, to most, the most valuable airgun I have. 3X more.
I try to shoot all my guns on a regular basis, all but a few. Those "few" are my Collector quality like new Sheridan Streak, Sheridan Model F... and my AA S400.
The S400 is so darn nice, it gets it own hard case so as not to even get "safe damage" from bumping into other guns.
So my question is...
Is it better to preserve this gun for special occasions and risk things getting hard maybe set in place, or to shoot it regularly and keep everything moving but potentially wear out or break?
I do store it with a 1/2 charge (under 2000 but more than 1000 psi) and wiped down. It so far holds that charge indefinitely. She is just so jaw dropping beautiful and accurate, I hate to hurt it... one way or the other.

Scott, I feel ya and hear ya! I too feel the same way and want to baby certain rifles! Someone where I purchased a nice one said I should shoot it often as o’ings can dry out more just sitting than being used...don’t know if that’s true or not but, I like! LOL! Anyway, enjoy her while shooting and admiring her

As pretty as some airguns are, still just airguns. Don't think many of them are going to hold or increase in value over the years like a fine PB rifle or shotgun. Even then I would have a hard time just letting it sit there.

Shoot it and have fun.

Scott I am not a gun collector. All my guns with no exceptions are shot frequently I am a gun enthusiast and take great pleasure in being able to hit what I aim at most of the time and when I do miss it is all me. Also felt that you deserved to have the pleasure of owning a fine example of what "Jersey Joe Palone" aka Sharky called a stupid accurate rifle.

If it were mine, I would take it out and go enjoy it. You can't take it with you as they say and with all the new guns coming out bigger and better, it may not hold its value. An example would be the Edgun R3. I use to dream of owning one, but now I don't because of the new R5. Put a sock on the stock if you must and take it outside to really appreciate it and enjoy it.

I have a .22 EdGun 3.5 regulated and all that is missing is the side lever cocking. If ed ever comes out wit a side lever breech for this sweet shooter I will definitely go for the upgrade. I am presently saving for an R5M possibly in .25, the funny thing is I am not a huge fan or bull pup rifles but the Edgun is a serious exception for me.

The s400 has zero collector value so just shoot it. They are pretty common, so when it wears out you can just buy another.

You guys convinced me...
For PCP action, I have been shooting the Maximus. I pulled the S400 case out from under the bed and after today's "Mothers Day" activities and the weather clears. She is gonna get some air time.

A testament to Air Arms quality! That is an awesome little shooter right? As far as I know you are at least the 5th owner of that gun and probably (most def.) more because the guy I bought it from likes to buy and try different guns like I do.

Doesn't matter how many hands it's passed through because it keeps on ticking! Go out and shoot that thing til it strips the rifling right out of the barrel!

Airguns were made to be shot, imo why spend the dough on.a.quality gun.and not shoot it or worry about scratching it or something.

With my higher end bicycles they would always say "Ride it like you stole it.." But I can't stand thieves, so "Shoot it like you found it..."😎

First thing I did with my new mountain bike was lose momentum on a narrow pass. tried to stop myself, bear trapped my leg with the spike pedals and proceed to fall off the trail down the hill lol. Decided to get the new off it quick I guess. Just glad no one saw it happen.
