Being your first PCP, I would not jump into extensive mods right off the bat. There is allot to learn. The oem rifle can be tuned to 30fpe for 24 or more shots. Also, at this lower power, you may find a LDC is not necessary. Learn the gun, learn about pcps, figure out what you want to do with it exactly, then start down the modification rabbit hole.Yes the old adage was that regulation wasn't beneficial on the 25 Mrod. That barrier has been broken. Regulation can provide benefit in the 25 cal Mrod, especially if your power level is less than 50fpe. Many have documented that here on GTA. It does require other mods, include valve and transfer port, hammers and springs. This becomes another whole level of tuning and learning. Not recommending you jump into that end of the pool yet.
JohnWhat gun/action is that in your Avatar in the "Blaster" stock, 2nd up from the bottom, in the middle ? Checked the Boyds website and they aren't showing it as being in the inventory anymore! Is it a DIY one off or they dont offer anymore? Thanks

It does use a Boyd's Blaster, but it was inletted by Norm, when he owned Discos R US. That was before Boyd's supported any of the Benjamin air guns. IMO: the Blaster is one of Boyd's best stocks for a mrod or disco/maximus. Not sure why they haven't added it to their lineup yet.
I have a 10/22...
Following. Is that the same as the Savage arms 93R17 BTV?
Quote from: Harpoon1 on May 10, 2018, 11:44:46 AMI have a 10/22...Now that you have a 25 synrod that 10/22 will just collect dust. I should know, have two heavily modified 10/22's that haven't been shot since getting the pcp bug.

It gets you 25-30 shot at 800ish fps on a 2500 psi fill, great if you are hand pumping and really quiet. When I first got mine I set it up this way and had no problem dropping starlings at 65 yards. If you would like to try it I will look for my notes for the settings I used which would get you in the neighborhood. Also with the .25, you'll find the impact is much louder than the report from the gun.ShawnThanks dude, didnt know about MarauderAirRifle.com! Good stuff, between MAR.com and Hajimoto's excellent YouTube tutorials, feel like I have a pretty good grip on it now. Thanks again.

That's the great thing about this hobby, most people are more than willing to help you out and share their knowledge freely. Let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
I am total novice to this (first post), put an FFH in a totally stock Mrod .25, adjusted the hammer a bit and then put a 43 pellet string all over 30 FPE on a 2,800 psi charge with JSB exact king 25.39. Started at 740, peaked 789 finished at 730, so the es was wide, but effort was minimal. Also noticeably less noise.Next I stuck in a Huma reg with gauge port, set to 2,100, adjusted hammer and put out a 36 shot string at 33 FPE within 4% es, even quieter. 30 of the shots within 1% es.So i feel like I'm rapidly approaching diminishing returns for my purposes. 40 @ 840 would take greater effort/cost... new valve, port ... Credit to the great people here, it came together quickly, Thanks guys!(caught the bug, think I'll start a Hatsan BullBoss .25 because I like to share, but don't like taking turns ...)
Thanks Skimpy! I have been wanting someone to post an out of the box .25 cal Mrod tune. I don't know the fill pressures so I took a guess at that. Here is a visual of the string. I ran an analysis for a 2.30% ES and you can see the results between the red lines and in the upper left blue box. It shows 19 shots within a 2.27% ES between 2886 psi and 2154 psi..
Thanks! If you are in need of a free spreadsheet you can download the one that I am sharing below. It's not the Shot String Analyzer, but works good and will show you the shots within a 2% and 4% extreme spread (ES). I don't know why the GTA Mods don't put all of these free spreadsheets the members offer up into a sticky for newcomers or for those members in need of a spreadsheet.P.S. This spreadsheet will work great with flipping and stripping out the FPS data from your Caldwell chronograph and is what I used. I don't retype anything.Click here to download the free spreadsheet
