Beeman P17 Cocking Aid

This is my version of a P17 cocking aid that I saw a while back, it was from a man in Canada, he even has a video about it.
The cost was 20 dollars plus 17 dollars shipping so I decided to try making one.
I used 1/2" Aluminum strips cut 5" long and 3/4" PVC pipe.
It makes the P17 much easier to cock that I get it out and shoot it more.

My P-17 cocking aid is a leather fingerless Harley riding glove.

I also started using a fingerless leather glove, but then i just started using my bare hand. I don't really understand why anyone would need a "cocking aid" but I'm glad that there is a solution for those folk that would require a mod to make cocking the P17 easier. It is such a nice shooter for the price, quite the bargain of available pistols.

One of my P17's has a 4x scope on it that acts as a cocking aid.

I smoothed the sharp places on the top of my other one so it would not bite into my hand. 
The back sight and the 11mm scope grove have sharp places that need smoothing.

Or, a leather glove works.

I developed a technique for cocking mine that takes very little effort (at least for me)and no aids...having said that 1 is stock and the other I ground off all the sights and did the pellet pen mod...the smooth surfaces are great...I put a red dot on it....good luck

I used to hold the grip in my right hand and close it with my left against my right thigh. One day it dawned on me that I was essentially pointing the gun at a very vulnerable area of my anatomy and the safety had been disabled. Didn't take long to change my procedure to the left thigh thereby pointing the gun in a less terminal direction.

Okay, I will bite. Will you describe your technique pls. All i do is just hold my P17 close to my chest with the barrel pointed downward and to my left when cocking and this method (at least for me) yields the most leverage. Both of my P17's are dressed with red dot type sights and at least to me i think it is more accurate than using the fixed sights.

Care to share some pics? I have an odd upper portion of an old P17 lying in my parts closet (read that as junk area). Might be fun to play around with that using my Dremel. Anyone paint theirs? And if so, which type of paint works best?
