Initial shot string data from the newly released Hatsan Bully 25 cal

Got the newly released Hatsan Bully 0.25cal from Dennis at IndianaAirguns.com. At the time, they didn't have the Bully listed so I called him and he ordered it. Their website is a work in progress, but Dennis is a pleasure to deal with. I got the Hatsan Bully a few days later. Spent Thurs. and Fri. evenings cleaning the barrel and mounting a scope, On Sat., I went out to their airgun range for a day of shooting. I was able to get the sidewinder scope sighted in and ran different pellets over my chrono. At 250 bar, this thing is HOT. The shot curves are declining flat lines. I think a hammer spring tweak will settle it down into a nice shot curve. I'm looking forward to playing with it.

Thanks for the info. Have you had a chance to chrony it? I'm curious if the 30 cal has a curve in its shot curve.

Not yet; just cleaned the barrel and put a scope on it. Put a couple of shots thru it to see how loud it was before the LDC. Will probably try to chrono it tomorrow or Tuesday.

Ordered JSB and H&N pellets should be delivered tomorrow. Just have some vortex pellets for now.

That is a lot of power for a stock gun . The shot string needs work but good for an initial test. I would pick the most accurate pellet out of what you have and tune a nice bell curve . I would tune for the 34 grain JSB pellets and try for 3 mags within 5%.

A lot of power, you can say that again. It shot a 13 shot magazine of 19.91gr baracude green (tin) pellets at the following FPE (reverse order).

Hahaha, tin pellets at 60 FPE! Although, not usable power. They didn't group well at 1100+ FPS. Anyway, I'm going to run slugs through it to see what that looks like. I'll probably dual tune it. One spring for heavy pellets and one for slugs.

I’ve found Hatsan barrels somewhat picky when it comes to shooting slugs . I think it’s because if the over excessive choke . You might want to get in touch with NSA . He has a lot of experience and can point you in the right direction for slugs to try.

Have you played with the hammer spring yet ? This is the first of any Hatsan rifle I’ve seen shoot the typical Korean cliff . Of the four Hatsan rifles I’ve owned they all had somewhat of a curve , they did get flattened out with some adjusting .

I was surprised by the flat shot curve as well. I haven't started trying to tune it yet. Can't get out shooting again until Sat. and I want to get baseline data on slugs before I start. I have slugs from H&N, Hunter Supply, and NSA. Will post more baseline data when I finish testing.
