Secret sauce

    I had a Sheridan rebuilt by an airgun shop here in Ohio. I didn't want to depend on USPS. About 3 to 4 months later it would not pump up much. The shop fixed it for free. 3 to 4 months later it won't pump up again. Took it back to the shop. They took it apart, said seal were shot and told me I had used oil with solvents. I have only used Secret Sauce on the gun. They say only use Pellgun oil. Isn't Secret Sauce the best? I thought Pellgun oil would gum up my gun. Please advise me. Thank you.

If they rebuilt it, AND told you to use only pellgun oil, then you are out of luck with that rebuilder.  Not saying it’s right, as secret sauce has a pretty good reputation.  Pellgun oil, or any that leaves a petroleum residue, will likely gum up your internals at some point.  Give them credit for fixing it once, but sounds  like you need a different rebuilder.

Send the rifle to Tim at Mac-1. Not sure why your rebuilder said Secret Sauce has solvents in it.  Sounds like an excuse for poor work to me.

I've been using secret sauce in several different pumpers for about seven years and none of them has had any problems.  2 392's, 2 140's, 1 1400, 1 C9C, and a passel of 13xx's.   Regards, Tom

When I worked at a sandwich shop as a kid; our "secret sauce" was Thousand Islands dressing... Never thought about trying it in my Air gun though... Hmmm...

I have a couple of steroided sheridans and that is all I use on them. that is why I thought I should use it on my other gun. Maybe it depends on the quality of the parts in the reseal?
