Hello All,
I just received my Hatsan Torpedo 100X air rifle. I decided to go with the wood stock and gas piston. UPS dropped it off and the package was in great condition. The inside box was also A OK but some of the foam shipping pads did get broken. No damage to the rifle that I can see at this time.
I will leave it in the workshop to warm up tonight and then tomorrow I will take some test shots.
Rifle was shipped from Pyramyd Air.

Congratulations on the new rifle. Report back with your results, and impressions. I recently purchased my first Hatsan, and am pleased with it.

Morning Guys,
This is an underlever, Vortex gas piston with the walnut stock.
The rifle came with front and rear fiber optic sights, Hatasn rifle sling, scope lock clamp, several allen wrenches for the sights and the trigger adjustment.
Well the rifle warmed up from being in a shippers truck yesterday so I decided to start working on her.
Pictures will follow.
First the stock and the checkering are beautiful, the checkering is perfect, no slips or scratches on the boarder lines.
The rifle is very heavy and I love it.
I started by removing the sight completely, if I can find a new front sight I will remove the fiber optic top of this sight.
( If I alter something on a rifle I like to have a new replacement part just in case I want to put it back to original.)
Now I decided on using a used Tasco 3x9x40 scope to start testing. I have a new adjustable Hatsan scope but I'll go with the Tasco for now. I used a new set of mounts that lock in the sight bar so no moving around I hope.
Ok now the most important part, cocking the rifle, I followed the Hatsan instructions, and grabbed the under lever.
Holy tomoly!! this think is ain't no childs toy. Yes I cocked it, but only by setting the butt of the stock on the floor.
This thing has some extreme guts.
I locked up the under lever and opened the bolt/barrel. The breach opening or pellet loading area is also super. Big enough for huge fingers to place a pellet in the barrel.
Ok now step outside the shop door and try a shot at my 15 yard target.
Well it is not a loud 30-06 noise but it does make some noise. Recoil was definitely there but not bad at all.
The first shot was a quick shot because it is 20 degrees out here.
Checked the target and windage was off to the right by 16 inches, elevation was right in line with the bulls eye.
This was off hand no rests right now.
Ok back inside now, I will wait until it warms up a little.
To say the least I am totally pleased with this rifle.
More testing later with some pic's.

I give up on trying to load pictures on this forum. I tried 8, then 6, then 4, I still get an error message that my file is to big!!!!

Try emailing it to yourself. Then download that picture. Then post the picture you downloaded.That's how I have to do it.
I agree this method is cumbersome... I wish they could change the parameters for the size of the file that can be loaded, as a pic. Then I could post pics directly from my phone...

Congrats on the new rifle. The photos can not be bigger than 650KB each and 3500KB total to upload and attach to your post. You can resize them to get them smaller. I use http://www.picresize.com/ If you right click on your photos and go to properties it will show you the size. 1MB is 1000KB. You can also take the photos at a lower resolution to make them smaller from the start.

I will try to talk about the pictures that are attached.
The checkering in the previous pic and in one of these pics, is great.
Picture of the open bolt and closed bolt.
Front sight, this is the one that I want to remove the top portion of, just the fiber optics.
This pic also shows the only thing about this rifle that I did not like. The hole that the allen set screw is screwed into to hold the front sight on, show what looks like rust on the threads???
The trigger and the adjusting screws.
And the butt plate or pad.
If all of these pics will not tranfer, look in my next post.

Well mama wanted to go to the store just when I wanted to set up the shooting bench. Well we went to the store!
When we got back we had appointments to get our hair cut.

So no testing today.

Here is a thought to ponder over, the barrel and the bolt are one in the same. When you open the bolt the barrel slides forward and then back when you close it. OK that works great and I like it but, if it slides, I would hope that when the bolt is closed the end of the barrel would be snug in the barrel pipe or tube.

If I can find a service manual I might be able to figure this out. You may say why? Well I believe the rifle would be considerably more accurate if the barrel was always in the same plane as the barrel tube. Maybe if I find another front sight I can remove this one and see what is holding the end of the barrel.??

At this point I don't know that it is even a problem, just thinking.

No problem, glad you were able to get your photos posted. Hatsan uses some nice wood for their rifles. Have you had time to shoot it any? The couple hatsan made break barrels that I have owned had some rust when new.

The front sight is fine, I just wonder why there is rust in the threads of this plastic sight. The rust must have come off of the set screw that was screwed into the sight. I will check it out then. I want to remove the fiber optic part of the front sight anyway. But I would like to have another original front sight to replace the altered one if I decide to change it back.
I still need to find a place to purchase parts for this Hatsan.

And thanks to REACTOR NIN for the parts diagram.
I have only fired this rifle one time, I will be sighting in the scope and checking group size today.

One quick question, the manufacturer says to clean the rifle bore after 500 shots. That bothers me, I would think you should clean it after 10 to 20 shots?

??
Anyone think different?
