Need so help with a Discovery. I purchased a second hand Discovery and I  added some up grades and cleaned the entire rifle. I am having a problem with a breach leak. I am getting a puff of air out of where the transfer port meets the barrel. I checked the bottom of the port and it is seated properly into the square o ring. So my guess is it is leaking from the top where it meets the barrel. I tried a thin slice of silcone tubing and it is still leaking. What is the trick to get it to line up correctly and am I missing any other tricks. With the exception of just trial and error. Thank you all in advance for your help

It may be the o-ring is missing where the bolt pushes the pellet into the breech.

The transfer tube has a short and long side. Make sure the long side is up.

Bolt o ring is there and new, thank you, I soap and water tested it and the bubbles come from the point of the transfer port. I will check the transfer port, . Long side UP.

I've had too many discoveries. This problem has been found on almost every one I've owned.

I usually turn a new tp for it with an Oring on both sides.

A quick fix and great fix is to separate the breech and airtube, (don't strip the tiny .050 Allen screw) remove the transfer port and grab some shoegoo or E6000 glue and apply a very thin bead above the waist of the TP on the breech side, do not let any go into it though. Then what I do is slip in the breech with the glue, and let it dry over night. Then reassemble the rifle.

This glue turns into a great sealing flexible type of glue that will keep the TP from leaking on the breech side.

How do you turn them. I would love to have a lathe to make my own. That is a great idea to have two o-rings. To bad Benjamin hasn’t caught on.

The problem with all of the 22xx platform is that the breech is poorly secured to the tube. If you can slip a pc. of paper between the bottom of the breech and the tube then in all probability you are not get enough compression to make the little square o ring hold a seal. The simplest fix is to add a second barrel band at the front of the breech and inlet the stock for it. Always use a soft jaw clamp to compress the breech to the tube and then snug up on the 4/48 breech screw and second barrel band.
