Okay I am looking for the real low down here . Has anyone any experience with these guns ? What is the quality like , are they really that hard to cock them , are they good bang for the buck or are there other springer pistols out there better and about the same price ? Please let me know , I had a British made Tempest years ago I foolishly sold , but and hesitant on buying one now .., any real stories and advice is much appreciated . Thanks .

I purchased one from Pyramyd when they first came out. It looked fairly well made, but it would not cock and things were rattling around inside. The package was in perfect condition and it did not have a scratch on it, so I assume the factory failed to put it together properly. It was a true Turkey.

I ordered it in August 2016, received it in February 2017, returned it in March 2017. "Would not cock" indicates that the sear would not engage when the barrel was rotated forward. I have four or five UK Tempests and two Hurricanes, so I know my way around this type of pistol.

When I first seen this thread I searched all over for a Turkish Webley Tempest but couldn't find a single place that had them. The only place that I seen one was on PA but it said discontinued I think.

An old friend of mine bought a real one a long long time ago, I'd be willing to bet he's still got it. Seems like it was in the late 70's or early 80's when he bought it, did they make them back then

Webley discontinued production in England around 2008 and licensed them to Turkey around 2015. I can not find any information about the Turkish production. Someone is selling them from Canada on American Airgun classifieds, Ebay & Gunbroker.

Purchased one recently and sold it within a couple of weeks. Fit and finish were flawless but it was insanely difficult to cock and that’s why I sold it. I found my HW45 and Hatsan Supercharger 25 a dream to cock compared to the Turk Tempest.

You want the low down? I got it!
Okay so I own and love my Beeman Tempest I've been shooting for the last 30 years. Never a problem and only maintenance was a new seal every few years. Still got it...still shooting it.
I took a job overseas in a hot moist sea salty area and didn't want to risk ruining my Beeman.
I purchased a new Tempest from PA and the first one I got showed up with a large scratch in it and missing the rear sight blade and screw. Sent it back...pain in the butt but Im picky like that...
Second one was a plethora of problems! Seal was garbage and shoved in sideways soit got crimped and blew out (ordered a new one from Chambers in England) the trigger pins fell out of the gun after 10 min of shooting. Put a slight bend in them a la Colt Elliason Rear Sight. Next the worst one happened, the roll pin on the barrel link sheared in half! Very difficult to replace locally, but managed a roll pin cut to fit and swaged in. While I was at it I replaced ALL side pins with roll pins. Had to put a tiny bend in sight washer to act as a Bellvile spring and put about 1000 rounds through it.
Its finally acceptable, but no. The quality is not there. Not even close. But if I wanted a gun I didnt care about to shoot bugs (we got big ones here) at night while walking dog, it does a decent job of that. Again never had any issue with the Brit version.
As for cocking strength, the videos Ive seen are all wrong. After you pop barrel release to check bore is clear, poi t gun up in the air and put left thumb behind front sight and right hand on grip. With a snapping motion (careful no lateral forces) break gun like you were sapping a wish bone.
Easy peezy nice and sleasy. If that is too difficult a method to master you should probably renew your subscription to Cat Fancier magazine;)
