Need advice with the valve body, extremely difficult to remove the front of it to replace seal and whatever is in there, gun was born 4-79 has brass body, any suggestions would be very helpful

Try turning it with some pliers and scraps of leather wrapped around the valve.

If that doesn't work, try the same after warming it up with a heat gun.

one tip on removing the valve front if you haven't any collets is to remove o ring and wrap a bit of copper wire in the groove for when you use grips on it
