Not sure if you were just poking fun but in case you weren’t…without getting into the chemistry of water, oil, & detergent it’s very simple. I believe this was taught in elementary school.
 
Water has the greatest density of the three. This is why an insect has difficulty penetrating it (walks on water). Oil works in much the same way. Its properties are less dense than water & this is why it floats. Detergents form a kind of bridge between oil & water. In other words detergents (soap) have properties of both. This is why when detergents are added to oil/grease, oil/grease seem to disappear, when in actuality both water & oil are still separated but at a molecular level.
 
So, to answer your question; the same would happen if detergent oil was added to water.

Yeah, I wasn't trying to be humorous, I assumed by your first post that oil with detergents added would look different than the pic of your secret sauce on water.  I'll have to try it to see.

I don’t have detergent motor oil so someone else will have to give it a try. I think it is safe to assume though, the difference would be minimal. Why, because the ratios would be severely skewed. However, I think you will still be able to observe a reaction of some water & oil bridging with the detergent.

I was just at Walmart today. If I can just figure what a "worm blower" looks like...

I bought a Fishing Worm Blower today at Walmart for about $2.  I reversed the needle in it and filled it with some Secret Sauce. Now I have a Needle Applicator for the Secret Sauce.  No Shipping paid and cheaper than Amazon. It works Great too. It will apply a small precision amount of lubrication to a precise point on my 1979 Silver Streak with out over lubricating.   It was an easy and inexpensive way to obtain a good precision needle applicator.    My Best Wishes to All  -  Tom

I just bought one of those today and did the same modification that you did.  Excellent suggestion!  Mine's filled with 30 wt. non-detergent oil.  Nice, precise oiling.

Your Welcome , Randy !     My Pleasure sir.   It was just a passing thought and I figured I'd give it a try.  Worm Blowers can be had at the fishing tackle isle in any store that sells fishing supplies.  Cheap too.       Best Wishes - Tom
