Purchased a Hatsan 135 .30 caliber

I finally convinced myself to buy another hatsan, I really did strongly consider buying the 25 caliber, and I still do consider getting another.
I purchased mine from midwayusa during the sale, which is still going on.
The air rifle came last Monday, I didn't wait to open the box and check out the rifle, my air gunning friend showed up at the same time as the rifle did, so I got to show it off.
The rifle is beautiful, the wood grain and blueing of the steel are great. The look of the QE is well done, the trigger is smooth and the pull is light, but the problem I had was that it felt too easy to cock it.
Luckily I own several hatsan PCP rifles and I have a handpump and luckily I have a great source of information from this forum, So rather than send the rifle back, I opted to fix it myself, right now I have the gas ram pressurized to 130 Bar, Which is where I will leave it until I run some shots over a chronograph.
I can't find the chronograph but I have shot the rifle today and I feel that it is performing much closer to the advertised specs.
Cocking effort still feels like it's light, about the same as my hatsan 125, but there is less leverage on the 135 so I expect more effort should be required. So when I find my chronograph I will decide if the gas ram is getting more pressure.
These are problems that I would rather not have, but these things happen with production airguns. Plus it was on sale.

My M135/.30 is a "two hand cocker", as are my other M135's and 135 based Webleys. I work out regularly and if I strain I can cock it with one hand, but that would get old for an extended session. My M135/.30 shoots at around the rated FPS...around 540 with the lighter 44 gr pellets, about 520 with the heavier JSB's. When you run it over the chrony you will know if you are in the ballpark.

i remember the 135QE i had in 22, it was beautiful !! heavy!! and took some effort to cock.
all this added up to a very accurate gun out to 35yrds.
sold it to partial fund my 1st pcp.....

I found my chronograph today and ran some shots over it, I am getting 505 FPS out of the rifle with the gas ram filled to 130 BAR, The rifle generates 25.35 FPE with 44.75 grain pellets, my elevation is 4,460 feet above sea level. I believe that velocity claims likely come from altitudes closer to sea level. So I will not attempt to get 550 FPS from this rifle, but I will be increasing the gas ram pressure to 140 BAR and shimming the breech seal.
I was not expecting to make a project out of this purchase, my intention in buying this airgun was for two reasons, the first being that I thought it would make a nice addition to my collection and second that I could shoot the pellets that don’t fit or fall out of my magazine from my 30 caliber carnivore.
Of course I’m just being ridiculous. :/

UPS just dropped mine off at the house. It’s sitting on the porch waiting for me to come home and open it up. For now I have to live vicariously through the experiences of others...
