Awesome! ! Something else to blur the lines between powder burners and airguns. . . Sure to be a big hit among felons. Lol
It is interesting that it is listed as a 'Defense Training Marker' on the Umarex site:http://www.umarex.com/products/defense-training-markers/markers/2.4758.htmlAs a trainer, this could be useful..Even if used for defense, I am pretty sure the folks at Umarex know it is a non-lethal deterrent, at best. Something more along the lines of pepper spray or a taser or stun gun, and a whole lot unlike an actual firearm, lol..Hey, not everybody in the world has access to real guns, and a good many others would rather try something short of lethal force, given the option..:-) chickie
If Im shooting at someone for self defense it sure as S$$T wont be with pepper balls.
I can't understand the video, so I am just guessing off of a visual representation. But it appears to not be intended as a lethal weapon, seems like a replacement for a can of pepper spray. I think it would be a good idea in some instances and for those who would be using pepper spray instead. It seems you wouldn't need to be as close to the person (or bear) to use it on them as you would actually pepper spray. Also they would get a sting or a welt to help deter them as well and you really wouldn't have the chance of accidentally spraying yourself like what can happen with pepper spray. So yes could be a useful tool to carry out hiking if you prefer not to have a gun.As for the co2 concern many are having with the gun, from what I can see that has been addressed. It appears you can put the co2 cart in but until you smack the cap on the bottom of the gun it is not pierced. Therefor you wouldn't have any co2 leaking from storing it for long periods. This gun would probably perpetuate the myth that air guns are just a toy in my opinion because first a person would hear .50 cal and would think wow that must be powerful, and then they would see it bouncing off of everything it is shot at shy of a piece of paper. Be interesting to see how things turn out if anything.
Training? Well, I guess it would give at least a limited sense of recoil. But there just aren't many large organizations issuing revolvers (which that most closely copies)
