It Ain't Pretty BUT

I have been squawking about how my Gauntlet is very sensitive to any barrel bump since I got it.  I added a Hajimoto barrel band that couples the barrel to the air tank and that helped a lot, but I still needed more assurance the barrel was not going to move from its set point.

So I did the ugly to an already not that pretty a gun (but for what it offers, the price was right).

I took two pieces of flat stock I had and JB Welded them to the receiver and then proceeded to screw them into the shroud with the idea that the shroud is the main reason the pencil thin barrel moves because the shroud is screwed on to a coupler that is grub screwed on to the barrel, which becomes the main support for the shroud on the factory supplied gun.  There is a lot of leverage out at the end of the barrel and a small movement make a large difference as the target is stretched out to 40-50 yards.

No, it isn't pretty, but it seems to do the job quite well.  The barrel, with my additions and Haj's 3 D printer made barrel band, now makes my barrel a fixed entity.  The need for a floater is non-existant  as the results show.

There is still no cure for high wind unless it is corrected for.

Easy and economical even if not elegant.   In general cannot have all three.   And it works!
