I am going to give it a try too.
Now where did I put that rabbit?  Hee hee
Actually, I do have one that visits my flower bed every night.   Hummmm?   Nawww!  He is too cute and the grandsons would never forgive me.

Although I have not spoken German in 30 years I still remember some of and the literal translation is "rabbit-pepper", not "stew".

Looks good though!  Did you try it yet Scott?  You have to get a wabbit first ;D

Had a couple of rabbits from the freezer to try this today.

It was really tasty! I embellished from the original recipe by adding carrots and mushrooms. A Russian co-worker told me once how he really likes eating rabbit with your cream, so I tried this with this dish. He was right, its delicious with sour cream! I'm bring that co-worker some of this dish tomorrow.
As usual, my wife wanted nothing to do with my game recipes. That's fine, more for me! ;)

Looks tasty Dinh!
Even better the second day, Scott!

As you can see, I'd added some carrots and mushrooms to the recipe, and next time, I'll throw in some celery and onions. I just added the meat right to the "gravy" rather than adding before serving. Also, next time, I'm going to double the gravy and make it more stew like.......possibly adding baby potatoes to the mix. I really like the occasional burst of peppery when you bite into a surprise peppercorn, so I'll also double the amount of peppercorn as well.

This recipe is a keeper, and would work great for chicken as well.............for when the bunny harvest is low ;)

Yes. Peppered Rabbit.

I rooted for elmer fudd myself.

My grandfather used to make a delicious peppered rabbit.  I can still taste it in my head 35-40 years later.

That does it... Next Wabbit season, Duck season, Wabbit season... I will be making this.
Suddenly I find myself to be looking forward to winter.  :o

If Chicken is an option... wonder about these 100's of pest Canook Geese wandering around.
Hmmm.  Much more plentiful here now, with a shorter hunting season.
The Bunny population is JUST starting to recover here since the DNR introduced Coyotes to control the Ground hogs. HEY! Guess what numbskulls... Rabbits are easier prey, what did you think they would eat FIRST for a decade?
Oh, and those ticks YOU brought here for their lime disease to control the deer over population? Yeah... thanks. :-\
And when that didn't work on the Deer, those 2 pair of mating Mountain Lions in my County your first denied and then later admitted to... Sheer brilliance that was. ::) Now my Grand-kids can't roam the fields here like I did as a youth.

GOSH... I digress, sorry for the rant that turned into.
