Dear fellow enthusiasts, I recently got back into this wonderful sport after being absent for more than 20 years. Naturally, the first place I turned to for information was Google, hoping I'd find lots of like minded people. I had no trouble finding videos and online forums (such as this one), but finding physical clubs or meet ups
dedicated
to air guns in Massachusetts has been disappointing.
I know there is one place in Hudson, called New England Airgun that has a range/shop, but surely there must be more people like us in Mass. Does anyone know of any frequent gatherings or matches that take place in MA, especially within the Norfolk/Middlesex counties? If not, is anyone interested in starting something?
P.S. I've heard others opine that MA is a lost cause for anyone who is interested in shooting sports. Its true that the state is liberal/left leaning, but there are a lot of open minded people right outside of Boston. I'm just trying to find them.
Thanks,
Marty

Hey Marty how are you? I live in Ma and shoot FT as well. Right now there is a club in Conn that will be holding monthly matches the next being March 25. Here is a calendar of events in the North East to get an idea of what's going on for clubs.
http://www.bcsportsmen.org/ft/schedule.html
If you click on the club names on the calendar more info and links to clubs with a web page or contact info will pop up.
There may be more shoots and the MRA club in Woburn this summer but I can't say for sure. I am also working on getting a club going on cape cod but have yet to get a place to hold matches.
I hope this helps and I hope to see you shooting again soon.

Aren't most of the clubs in the old Minutemen League still having shoots. Here is a link to the old sight, check the clubs listed. Tom

Hi Marty,
I live in Marlborough and am blessed with 3 acres of woodland. In winter I shoot at New England Air Gun.
No field target for me as I work weekends so I can never compete.
I am open to anything that I can participate in.

Thank you all for replying and all of your suggestions. I guess I'll checkout the MRA in Woburn first, then I'll see if I can make the time to come down to CT for an event or two.
Mitch and anyone else who frequents New England Airgun, I'd love to meet-up sometime in the near future. Work has me busy now, but hopefully I'll have some free time in April. I'll keep you posted.
Lastly, maybe we can get a website going in the future to make it easier to find others who are searching for events and comraderie. Given the current atmosphere, I think it would help if we got more organized. I doubt any new laws that are waiting to be passed will be making distinctions between air guns and powder burners.
Cheers,
Marty
