unusual Crosman pump pin

I have this older American Classic 1377 and the pump pin is different than all others I have seen. I do not know if it is an original or how to remove it if I ever need to. The Gun which I bought in the box looks like new IMO. Both ends of the pump pin look the same.

 Please let me know any info on pins like the one in my pic.

Looks like the pin on an old 760 multi pump I have. Drive the small pin out and then you can get to the normal roll pin underneath.

I was going to say, the 760 variant 4 (1/77) I was just given has a pivot pin just like that. I have a set of 9 roll pin punches to deal with them though. Got them at Home Depot for 13 bucks.

I figured that is how it would come off. The pistol I have is still working great so I will just wait to if I ever need to. I was curious if it was Crosman or after market, even though it doesn't look like it has ever been worked on. I have a whole bunch of older Crosman pumpers and this is the only one with that type of pin.

Those darn roll pins are in there so tight, it'll surprise you. And make sure the punch is as close to the same diameter as the roll pin as possible. Or you're going to find it hard going to get it out! They're in there pretty tight. Too tight, I think. So I'm goping to polish it down a bit, reblue it, then see how easily it taps back in.

I asked partly due to the pic on the box doesn't show the same pin type.
What year do you think this one is from? I think it is pre 80's
It has a steel breech, steel rear sight, wrap around grips.

I have read the first variant was 1977-1981. When did they go to the plastic rear sight?

I have a pretty large variety of snap ring tools and one of them worked, that's all I really remember.

Then you probably didn't have a factory ring. The original didn't have anything to grab on to, and hardly any gap, at the split. Maybe 10 thousandths.

I had a brain trauma two years ago and it still affects my memory. Now that you described it I do remember it was troublesome and I did scratch the tube, I replaced it with a normal E clip when I put the gun back together.

I just happened across a 1322 with one of those split pins, and is why I haven't taken it apart to fix it... I have some ideas, we'll see if they work...

Look for the serial number on your pistol. All Crosman's built after July 1975 have the build date as the 1st 3-4 numbers.

Though as not so easy as I expected, I could finally set it in, and it's been working OK for a few years now. But it was only the accessory to a very usefull threaded barrel band (IMHO)...(http://www.gmaccustomparts.com/13xx-Barrel-Band-for-silencer)

So that's the way it looks now (see pic attached).

Some don't mind a bit of noise, some enjoy being really quiet. I belong to the second category.

Those ones cant be pulled out the side like eclips. Take a small flat head and slide under then twist  which will pop them off, it gets easier after a few times.

It did have the factory ring that is almost a complete closed circle!
