Looking at a C9A

I'm looking to buy a C9A. This C9A was produced in 2004. It is supposed to have a removable valve.
Is the valve the same as in the 392?
Is the trigger the same as the 392 or the older Dan's?

A 2004 C9 will be like a current 392 with a .20 cal barrel.

If they are the same should the C9 not push a pellet as fast as the 392, 680 - 700 fps? I see them shooting closer to 600 - 625.

I used to have a transition C9 with old trigger, but new valve,  and it did 630 with 14.3. I never tried other weights.
Last week I picked up a Benji-Sheri C9 (probably soldered valve) that does 618 with 14.3 and 676 with 13.7.

You should be good to go. I'm sure you'd have no problem selling or trading if you don't like .20.

yup, all benjamin and sheridan rifles had the same valves.

the advertised velocities were easily attainable with LIGHT pellets.

velocities with 14.3 grain pellets in my experience are usually in the 625 +/- 25 fps neighborhood.  and thats for either caliber .22 or .20  there is more variation gun to gun than caliber to caliber.
