Trapping Lead Dust in Steel Pellet Trap

Most of us that use the steel pellet traps inside the house have probably cut pieces to cardboard to fit the opening of the trap and taped it in place.

I got tired of cutting and taping and thought there might be a better way.  That's when I decided to use the Glad Press-N-Seal self-sticking wrap.

I simply pull out and tear off enough wrap that will fit over the opening of the trap plus about 4-5 inches on both sides of the trap.  Then place it across the opening.  It is actually strong enough to prevent the pellets from coming back out as some do without a covering over the opening.  Nevertheless, if a few get out, they harmlessly fall on the big cookie sheet that the trap is sitting on.

I will admit that I replace the wrap a little more often than I did the cardboard but it's faster than cutting and taping the cardboard.

Good idea. I wonder if I seal it over a colored cardboard and spray painted it, would it make a cheap splatter target?

I might try that myself and see if it works.
