That’s very nice Dan.  I don’t think I’ve seen that much of your view before.  Looks like a neat place.  It’s Alamo good to see some green.

 We do live in a spot with good views, "blessed!"  I really enjoy seeing it green too, of course the downside is when it browns again in the summer. I sure enjoy the change to green while it lasts though.

From last night's travel, halfway home. The window was dirty...

Yeah, I do, mostly for work, and mostly domestic with occasional international sprinkled in.

The northwest area in Washington state (Seattle) is well known for skid rows. They slid the logs off the mountains to the mills and docks below. Seattle is a very interesting city to visit.

Today's lesson...

My small timber tract was last harvested ~30 years ago.
When mulching it, we found the 1 1/8” wire rope that parted and the loggers left behind.

Found it multiple times.

The yotes must be pretty bad around there. Is it legal to set snares or traps for them there? If you're in open country where you can shoot them from a distance that's where a thermal scope would come in handy if they wait till dark to snoop around the home.

Set a snare once.. got a Black Lab who's master had lost him.
Called the phone Number on the tag... Dog lost it's foot.

A sign in the Urgent Care parking lot. Beaver Medical group was bought out by Optum so, I am sure they will change the sign at some point. I cut the sign off in my pic but that is all it says on it.

My family roots, at least on my dads side, go back to the earliest of the pioneers that migrated into Utah. They settled into Beaver Ut.
My dad was born there, and we've always had relatives there.
There is an annual celebration in late July, Pioneer Day, where they have a parade, activities, and a rodeo.

We'd go up there every year for the family gathering, and all of the activities, and especially the fishing (at least for me).  It was something that I got very used to, to a point of overlooking the glaringly obvious.

Well, around 1979 or so, my now wife, then gf and I, made the drive to Beaver to show her a small town in action.
We made our way to Main street to watch the parade, when my longtime dulled obliviousness showed itself.
We were sitting there watching the parade roll by; tractors pulling hay wagons that were decorated, mostly, when one particular "float" came rolling by, all decorated out with the towns beauty queen, and it was festooned with a grand title of, Miss Beaver.
My wife was rolling on the ground in hysterical laughs, and it was then that the realization of it came hitting me at full strength; no more dulled out, overlooking of the glaringly obvious.

There was also a great little ski resort there, named Mount Holly.
You had to go up Beaver Canyon, to Mount Holly.

LOL most get shot . Yesterday I got the bird to land on my arm, but only for a minute, and try as I may I could noy get my phone out of my pocket in time for the photo op

P.S. high wind warning, according to the weather,  unless it blows my hat off its only a breeze,  75 mph is normal for where I live
