Sqrl Klr,
Yes it is very beautiful out here, abit cold out though.
Hoosier Daddy,
Yes, when you read me mention shooting at 10, 15, 20 and 27 yards,, thats where the Magic happens.
Xraycer,
No trees unless i travel east for 25 + miles on the Kashunak River.
There are many days that are abit windy to shoot. But i still shoot on some windy days.
The tall grass does calm the wind to some extent when i am shooting. One thing i have learned is .22 is alot more stable in wind compared to 177.

I assume that with the extreme cold conditions the air is very dry making it thinner.

avator,
This year we had wierd weather, cold Spring, 3 entire days of Summer, the rest was fall time.
Continuous rain from beginning of July through August. September and were still getting alot of rain just with more breaks than july and august. The Swamps out in the tundra are overflowing, deeper than other years.
This is the first year i see the Fireweed not bloom fully. They bloomed halfway then stopped. Im sure that was from the nonstop rain and the cold. Normally the bloom makes its way to the top. Once fireweed on full bloom we only have a few weeks till its COLDout... man its cold out. In a couple weeks and things will begin to freeze. Today weather was on and off rain.

At first glance, I thought the vertical slats were a row of air rifles.

No, I have 2 salvaged Navy lockers here in the Red Shed that I lined with 1/2" foam board. I put guns in those if I leave them out here overnight.

Boss drags those in. If I'm outside and Betty Lou lets her out of the house she always brings me a gift.. a pine cone, a stick, an oyster shell or just a mouthful of leaves. And as you can see from my avatar, even pellet tins.
