Should I get a Twin Spring System for my Marauder?

I installed an MSD hammer in my .177 Gen 2 Marauder, which now gives me 50 good shots between 2875 and 2000 psi at 840 fps with an ES of 12 fps. Needless to say, this is an improvement over the stock hammer!
 
I have the hammer tension set as light as possible, and the meter valve set at 1.75 turns out. Since I use this rifle in Field Target competition, accuracy is more important than power, hence the 840 fps velocity (which seems to produce the best accuracy).

I have noted that there are two peaks in fps in my shot string, The first peak is at 2800 psi (846 fps), and the second is at 2275 (842 fps). Between these two peaks the velocity drops to 835 fps at 2650 psi. I also noticed the accuracy of the rifle is less at around 2500 psi, but quite good from 2875-2650 psi and 2375-2000 psi. These effects are very reproducible.
 
Could the lower velocities between 2800 and 2275 psi, and reduced accuracy at 2500 psi be due to hammer bounce? Would the TSS (Twin Spring System) help with this?

Don't want to sound the preacher .... REGULATE it !!
Along with that lighter hammer you should manage 80ish shots off a fill with a low ES value.  ( 3K to @ 1.7K )

I installed a Huma Reg. as per Motorheads suggestion and WOW!!! What a Difference!! Virtually double the shot count, and really flat string. couldn't be happier!

AS Other post clearly states by operating range ... @ 1.7K which would be the approximate regulation "Set pressure" you are able to shoot down too until enetering self regulation and time to fill back up.

TSS is a SPRING KIT and NOT a hammer ... that said when regulating you can and actually want to use a much lighter hammer than stock.

The regulator doesn't prevent hammer bounce so the TSS is a great way to prevent hammer bounce when setup correctly with a gap between the hammer and valve.


 The TSS offers more spring space over stock which can be used for easier cocking and can also utilize two springs for easier cocking and fine adjustments.  I like the TSS and being able to lock my tune down with the setscrew the TSS comes with.  I can use one or two springs with the TSS which makes it very versatile for regulated or unregulated tunes verses a stock end cap.

If I was into the FTT competition thing I'd also get it regulated, I've only got one regulated rifle but it's a .22 and I use it for hunting, very accurate and doing 31fpe@60 shots.  The big advantage for me is I don't have to fill it very often when I go hunting with it.

yeah, I was just wondering if the air saving/debounce function was not needed so much with a light hammer/tss/regulated action.
My 177 is doing pretty good with economy with all of the above and tuning info from you guys.
getting about 90 shots at 850fps, could not be happier

The lighter hammer will significantly reduce hammer bounce and wasted air.

I already the mds hammer which is lighter than stock,
But I guess removing the tss to see if the stock spring setup would perform the same is neither here nor there
