With all of the recent sales of the last 705 Sentry guns, I imagine this page will once again be active. Wayne has 'moved on' to the AEA line but I will be getting my new 705 this week and I will join the club here and keep posting my findings, mods and targets. Thanks for 65 pages of great reading, all!

I’m sure you’re right David.  I’ve got a 705 in 22 that I’ve put a couple thousand pellets through and had a couple of hiccups but thanks to this thread (and all who have contributed) the necessary fixes were easy peasy.  Told a friend of the great deal Mike has on the 25 cal Sentrys and they picked one.  Told her about this thread and was thinking of resurrecting it myself but you beat me to it.  Enjoy your new 25!  If I didn’t have three other 25 calibers guns already I would jump all over that deal…  (Still might) 

The plan is to return my DAR ll to a pellet-pusher again and use the Sentry for slugs only. 

Are you shooting slugs with the OEM barrel, or have you changed the barrel? I've just recently picked mine back up, and want to find out what pellets it likes best. Amongst the boat loads of pellets I have, I also have some slugs but have been hesitant to try them.

The DAR Gen 2 in both .22 and .25 have been sold to buy the Gen 3 versions but they are now choked so slugs don't work in them.

The Sentry I got was the last one in the bottom of the stack made on a Friday afternoon right before a major holiday and was junk out of the box with no solution from Mike at FDR other than to send me a second defective barrel.

It's in parts now awaiting winter to become a project gun.

I guess what I'm asking is... is the stock Sentry barrel choked, and even if so... Was it able to exit slugs?

No choke, slugs exited fine. My barrels are pitted at the breach end, so accuracy was poor.

 I did get a 2nd hand 705, that shoots pellets fine , but is not liking slugs, my 702 shoots most anything I load.

Try the 24 gr .218 Griffin cupped slugs.

I just tried the Knock Out 25.39gr, .216cal slugs. The results were about an inch at 30yds. Not impressive. Where do you get the Griffins?

       Can anybody explain to my dumb azz ..how air can get from the breech to the end of the air tube….via barrel o-rings,probe or TP..looking at schematic I dont see it..FDAR says he never seen TP rings fail..Im just gonna shoot the gun (if it aint broke) but sure would like a clue…

It's more than likely coming from the valve stem side of the valve.

Have you taken it apart to see if that plastic piece is loose ?  There's an o ring ahead of that for sealing the valve stem.  If that plastic piece is loose
it will leak air bast the valve stem which wouldn't be sealed. That plastic part is a known piece to get loose through use.  You'll also loose a little power,
I actually had that happen on my 25 cal bolt action but it just wouldn't shoot at all because the screw came completely out.

I think you can in there with a long/thin screw driver after the hammer is out.  Shouldn't be a huge deal to get in there and see if can be snugged up some.  Piece of mind...  Or, as has been said, just shoot it.

But if you're like me, you'll try.  FYI - Don't be like me, sometimes (usually) it turns out to be more trouble than I bargained fore.

If you do continue shooting that gun with that screw loose (if it is) eventually it will come out completely which would probably create more problems.  On my 25 cal I had to find another
screw for it because the original screw got damaged because of that.  I do recommend purple loctite on that screw as well.

I need to take my Xisico Sentry .22 out in the woods again, I've been neglecting it because of all the AEA's that I've got these days.  I shoot exclusively BBT's from the Sentry,
they're very accurate and they expand really well, I even recovered one from a chipper that was the perfect mushroom.  It went from it's nose to its tail and stopped in the
hide. The nice thing is I won't even need to top it off because is still full from last year when I put it away.  I got it out yesterday and did dry fire it one shot, I think tomorrow I'm going
pack it to the woods with a few mags of BBT's.

There use to be a teardown of the Sentry but I can't find it on you tube, the guy made a lot of videos about it and probably got banned.

You have to remove the little allen, that acts as the indicator, first. Also backing the adjuster off, all the way, makes reassembly easier. Other than that, it comes out as a unit.

Thanks a lot…ready to get started..lol….it sure would be great if there was at least 1 tear down video for each popular guns  on u tube….I know I will keep on dreaming…..thanks again..
