You might want to find out if anyone has added an SSG to their Sentry, properly tuned,
it can reduced the muzzle blast and give outstanding results etc.

I am not aware that it has been done yet.

Did you have it power tuned by FD?

Anyone have a suggestion to lower the volume on a 705. I went to the effort of asking Mike at TKO to custom manufacture a TKO mod and the thing still barks too loudly for my neighborhood. If I can't find a solution I will be forced to sell it which is a shame since it is such a fine gun and tuned to perfection by Mike @ FDAR. Thanks

Yep got the power tune by Mike since it is my first PCP. I already have almost $500 into it...I may be better served selling it to someone who doesn't need the noise reduced.

Got out to shoot my new 705 .22 today and have some questions.

Rifle does not want to shoot consistent groups regardless of pellet - have tried CPHP, HN FTT, JSB Hades, Daisy HP, JSB Diablo Exact 18.13. POI seems to shift shot to shot. Power as set from Mike M. is about 2.75. Scope is a BSA Tactical Mil-Mil Rifle 30mm 4-14x44mm SF FFP. Guess I should try a different scope to eliminate that as the culprit.

Of the four Magazines I received with the rifle, only one will remain in place when inserted. The other three will fall out unless manually held in place when closing the bolt and will fall out when the bolt is cycled. I cannot see a physical difference when comparing the mags to each other.

Norcal, I found that my 705 shoots better with the power turned up to at least 3 1/2. Right now I have it set on 4 and can shoot pellet after pellet in the same hole at 10 yards. That's with the JSB 18.13 and H&N Hunter 18.21. The H&N Terminator 16.36 does almost as well.

Can someone look at the Breech Face on their 705 and compare what you see to the pic of mine below? I think the circular breech face on mine should be protruding slightly more to capture the magazines in the recessed slot on the face of the magazine. Looking at both my Benjamin Marauder and Fortitude, the breech face protrudes on both and captures the magazines holding them in place.

I just the found the cause of the issue. The barrel on my 705 has "slop" in that if I grasp the moderator and pull or push forward or back, the entire barrel will move almost an 1/8th of an inch, pulling the breech face flush so a magazine won't be captured/retained. This can't be normal, correct?

There is a set screw in the top of the breech that locates the barrel in the correct location with another two to secure the barrel.  Would have been good to check “all” of the screws on your rifle before using.  Chinese assembly and quality assurance is not “quite “ up to U.S. standards.

I hear you on that but Mike at Flying Dragon should have caught this as he had the rifle apart to tune it.

I just checked my 705-2, 22 cal, 03304 (last 5 of ser #)
I see two items that are different than mine.

1. is the bolt nose probe is sticking into the mag slot, (yours) on mine it is about .010" recessed,
this because your trigger group is slide/move slightly forward on the pressure tube.
The trigger housing needs to be slightly loosen and slide back just enough to have the bolt probe nose
flush or very slightly deeper in the action.

Be sure you can cock the bolt and everything works OK, after tightening everything down.

2. Your barrel is/has move forward, the is NO tip of the barrel to fit into the mag slot,
to capture the mag and hold it,
on mine the barrel protrudes approximately .055" into the mag slot opening.

You need to slightly loosen the barrel and slide the bbl straight back,
insert all your mags and check EACH one for the fit etc, do NOT twist the bbl,
as the TP/bbl hole can be misaligned.

Measure ALL the mags and check the thickness on each side of the bbl slot,
on mine they (ALL) were slightly dished from molding, high and low spots.

I had to take some 600 grit wet/dry sand paper and lay the paper and mag,
on a perfectly flat alum block and and make a couple of figure passes,
on the  back (Black) side, and checked all for the same dimensions,
did all mags, the same way until they all matched.

Then set the bbl setback with the corrected mags etc, in the action.

With the bbl moved forward, this will effect the accuracy also and has an effect on the ballistics' etc.

It is quite possible that the screw holding the barrel was tight enough to hold the barrel while Mike had it and it vibrated loose during shipping.  I drive a service van and you would be surprised how many things rattle apart in one day from road vibration.

I haven't had that problem on any of my Sentry's however I always check that kind of stuff when I put them back together.  When I bought my 705 Mike didn't do anything to it because I didn't request it.  I always prefer doing any mods to my guns myself.  I know that you can also get the barrels protruding into the breech too far as well, so when you relocate the barrel make sure that the magazines will still slide into place good.

I will be reaching out to Mike @ Flying Dragon on Monday with a request to return the rifle to have him fix it. For him to send it out in this condition after he supposedly disassembled it, inspected it, drilled out the ports, reassembled & tested for velocity and accuracy - well, I don't know what to say.

I'd not bother sending it back myself. There is only one screw that holds that barrel in and you can see it in the top of the breech. Push the barrel in just enough it's just protruding very little into the mag loading area and then tighten it down. Mistakes happen, and it's an easy fix, not worth the hassle of sending it back and forth.
My two cents anyway.
