Keith the only thing that I ever shoot from mine are the 27.5 grain BBT slugs at lower 800fps, they're much quieter than any pellets I've put through it plus they shoot like a laser. I think it's probably my best squirrel hunting rig by far, very durable, super nice side lever, plenty of shots and extremely accurate. I don't know if Mike opens up the transfer ports when he tunes them but I open mine (.22's) to 5/32" ports all the way through. About the best pellet in mine are my cast 23 grainers which are also extremely accurate from it and it's shooting them in the high 800's. All my cast pellets in .22 have a .217 head and they all fit the magazines perfect. I haven't really tried my 19.6 grainers but they'd be shooting too fast anyway but if I turned it down it would shoot them great I'm sure. Once you've got about a thousand rounds through it I suspect that you'll be surprised at how the accuracy improves once it's broke in. You just can't beat these guns for the price and workmanship in my opinion, if anyone want's a pretty much trouble free gun it's a great choice for sure.

Wayne, I can see the potential. I had cranked the power setting from 3 to 4, figuring on shooting some of the 33.95 gr JSB’s without checking the length. Looks like the maximum length that the mags will take is about .380”, ( a little under 10mm). The 33.95’s are .420 long. With the increase in power setting the report gets louder, though the dog did not mind it. I had run 40 shots prior of the 14.3 and 14.5 gr at power setting 3. 24 of those ranged between 874 and 910 fps while I was checking it out. Much quieter at 3. Here is the last target at 16 yd., 24 shots. The fliers are probably me using my improvised bench.

The only place that I really do any plinking is in the woods, here's shooting mine at 35 yards.

I shot a weasel early this year with my 705-2 .25, I've never gotten one before ever before this one. I still need to dig the hide out of the freezer and tan it.

I just visited Flying Dragon Air Rifles website and Mike said that it's going to be at least another 6 months before any shipments of Xisico air rifles will be available. It appears that all three calibers of the HC models are still available on his site however from what he's been saying about them is they've been selling as fast as he can keep them in stock, so if anyone wants one, right now would be the time to get one. He said he's got parts to last for quite a while yet though. I've thought about getting one in .25 cal however I'm thinking more down the line of ordering one of the Benjiman SAM's for my next rifle.

That's a bummer.
So glad I got my 705 .22 a little while back.
I took it out last week for the first time. Unfortunately the wind was screaming all morning. I basically got it on paper at 25 yards with 18.31 JSB Diabolo Heavy pellets. It likes them best.
I tried some 17.5 NSA slugs from .2165-.2175 for for not good results, as well as 14.3 & 15.89 JSB pellets. I hope to get back out in a couple of weeks for round 2 with better conditions.
All in all, so far I really like this gun. The magazines are great! The side lever is super smooth! Love it!

My 705 .22 likes the JSB Diablo 18’s also. Eight shots at 17 yd.

Sentry barrel porting.
I believe that I saw a post somewhere that said that someone, (possibly Fuzzy Grub), had changed the barrel ports from 3 equally spaced ports to 1 port in line with the transfer port. I was wondering if it made a difference. It would seem to me that a single port would be better, but possibly not enough to make a big difference. I believe that the Hawk only has one port and that it is closely related to the Sentry. Any thoughts or results? Pro’s and con’s. Just curious.

My early version 702-3 came with an extra larger TP, and they needed the ports opened up beyond what the larger included port was set at, nice to see they got the power boost right from the factory now.

Hi All,

I am getting started in AGing, using a 22 cal 702-5K from Mike@FDAR.

For those of you who have both a 705 version and 702 in 22 cal. Is there a big difference in accuracy and does the ldc on the 705 make it alot quieter ? Is the 705 worth the extra $$ over the 702?

Chris I'd opt for the 705 myself, it is quieter but not a lot quieter. Considerably more power and more shots per fill. They're both great guns though.

Welcome to the club Chris. I currently own both models in .22 and .25 caliber. Both models are very good values and none of my (4) are pellet fussy. The longer the range or the job will dictate different projectiles though.As others have stated,they are not the quietest in stock form. If extreme quiet is needed then an aftermarket LDC might be in the cards? Accuracy has been good out of all of mine.Not bench rest,but good overall.
As for my go to models,the 702's don't see much use now

I prefer the 705's for a variety of other reasons.

I have the 705 and the 702 in .22 and the 705 is a little quieter but like Wayne said not much.

I'm actually thinking of letting the 702 go its a nice little carbine but the 705 gets most of my use.

thanks for the info.
Hoping to get rifle and scope mounted this wkend have read thru a bunch of threads on scope mounting, proper torque, centering with the bore,etc.... so wish me luck on getting right .

I am looking forward to some winter practice, lucky for me I have long back yard with a wooded hill for a backstop and I have one room with window that overlooks the range, so I can practice indoors sort of

Despite the ammo drought, I was able to get a couple tins of HN FTT 14.66 gr and today found a tin of Crosman UMDP at my local Tractor supply so I've got some practice ammo.

Any recommendaton for a heavier pellet or will the 14 gr work for practice and squirrel patrol?

Your 702 will do you fine. Ask Wayne how mine performs.

it shot accurate when fed ANY .22 ... Crosman, JSB or H&N pellets VERY well.

Set up a target and see what your gun groups best and tell us where the power adjuster is set at.
