Kmanca1 has one and has reworked his prototype Sentry to shoot 32.8 grain slugs at around 910 fps. I think it has a very neat look.

I was thinking about putting a red dot sight on it but it`s zeroed so nicely where it resides I hated to do it. Guess it would be the thing to do though.

The barrel is clean.

If it was mine I would take off the barrel push a pellet through the barrel feeling along the way for loose or tight spots. Examine the pellet under a magnifying glass for rifling evenness on the pellet skirt and the pellet head. Also check the crown

Is it possible the barrel and the moderator, aka square plastic thingy covering the barrel, is out of alignment, where they join internally or where it mounts to other points on the gun.

Have a Maximus 177 that I bought new couple years ago. No matter what pellet I tried 5 shots five holes😳 shotgun blast end up being the the crowning tool ruined the end of the inside of the barrel. Got another barrel and all is good now😎. I always check the barrels on my new guns now. If the gun still shoots a shotgun pattern then I would suspect a scope problem

Does this barrel have to come off? Why cant I push it through from the muzzle and find out the same thing?

I suppose you could push a pellet through the muzzle end but I am not sure about that ? I have always push the pellet in the direction the pellet exits. If the barrel is choked I don’t know what it would to the pellet pushing the pellet through the choke first. Don’t remember if my 22 sentry is choked or not. Maybe someone can chime in?

You might be able to push it from the breach with a length section of weed wacker line, and if it doesn't work shoot it out.

I was going to double check cleaness of the barrel but loaned out the Goo Gone and never got it back so it's off to Walmart tomorrow. I'll pull the scope and put the red dot on and report back. Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

Just an update. I replaced the scope which did nothing. I couldn`t even get on paper at twenty yards. The barrel was quit dirty and has now been cleaned with Goo Gone but it`s now raining so no shooting until tomorrow. I did shoot some today (before cleaning) and I could see the pellets curving wildly all over. I`ll update again after another sight is mounted and I get to shoot again.

I have a 702-3 the model with no numbers on the power adjuster. How the heck do you know where you are at? Do you just crank it inward to increase lower? Mine came with no manuel as I bought it off the fellow Wiseguy sold it to. My chrony has died and I am wondering if there is a standard for increasing power.... Example turning the power adjuster in to 3/4 of the adjustment yields roughly xyz fps?

lower power is closer to butt of the stock, higher towards barrel
if you crank it all the way in you will be entering the downward slope of your power curve at stock w/no mods
i would leave it at 3/4 way in

Try a different scope. I have no problems holding a tight pattern. I have mine sighted in at about 50 yards. Using it for pest control. I couldn't be happier with mine. I left the power setting just like Mike had adjusted.

Here is a picture of my Sentry. I was told it is a 702-3. It has a barrel shroud, has been tuned, and trigger adjusted to 1# 9 oz.

read through the fan club if not mistaken he posted numbers and pellets on it, if it is tuned turning it all the way in will do you no good back it out to the #1 spot (make one?) and see if that is better, adjust up until your spread is going off

I looked at the muzzle under a ten power microscope and it appears the pellets are indeed leaving marks on the shroud in one area. I want to remove the shroud to see it that makes any difference. I took the fore stock off but the shroud wont budge. Any tips for getting it off?

OPPS! I pulled really hard and it slid off.

Well I`ll be hornswaggled! in my best Old Man McGucket voice. It was indeed hit the shroud. Once off in only took a few minutes to get it in the black. Now the question is how to best proceed. I can either router out the shroud or (my preference) seek out a moderator to fit the barrel. Any suggestions are most welcome. Thank you to all who offered help.
