I don't know why I never posted this here, but I've done 4 videos on airgun Shooter so far about restoring my 6/68 760 Powermaster variant one. The ol' woods walker tootsie roll.

I got a Simmons 4x32 scope, and 2 1/2" AR15 Picatinny rails for scope mounts to mod for it. And a mac1 seal/piston upgrade kit. It'll be getting an 1892 Winchester-style butt plate as well, here in 760 Powermaster variant 1 resto, PT4.

Well, the stain, mineral spirits and 9v lithium battery for the chronograph got picked up. It looks like the Minwax #224, " special walnut" matches the Crosman 760 v1's stain really close...

Looks good. I use semi gloss polycrylic after staining.

I like hand-rubbed Tru-Oil. the polyshades and the like are a bear to remove.

These must've been a late delivery yesterday, since my son found'em on the porch early this morning after work? They are a set of roll pin punches, the likes of which are used at the pump pivot point on the 760's. Now I can get them disassembled the rest of the way to finish these up.

Found'em at homer cheapo for 13 bucks and change.

I've since got started on part 6 of this rebuild in order to try and wind it up finally. I've since decided to put more into my videos. Some now complain that my videos are too long and they're falling asleep watching them. I don't never do nuthin' fast and easy! (see what I did there?) Just gotta finish the butt stock and custom butt plate to get on with reassembly. Here's a couple pics to tide you over;

Okay, I finally finished sanding the spray stain off the butt stock with 100 grit Emery paper. Then sanded that down with 400 grit Emery. Startin' to look like low-grade flame/tiger maple to me? Here's a couple pictures;

The " tiger stripes/Flames" look to me to be soft spots running across the grain that are accentuated by staining, being a blonde sort of wood?

Maybe birchwood? But maple is plausible, anyway, nice wood!

Could be Birchwood, yeah? But the flames/tiger stripes looking like water marks against the grain got me to wondering about the true nature of the " flames/tiger stripes"? But thanks, yeah, it's coming along nicely. Gotta finish shaping the tang on the custom butt plate so I can state inletting it. Wanna stain and Tru-Oil it to match closely the fore stock.

Working on video part 7 to get the rifle done, reassembled, and tested. Spent the last 2 days with rust & bluing remover, polishing the pump tube, then bluing it yesterday. It's hanging up curing now. First coat of stain has been drying some 4 hours now. Wow, does the flame watermarking's look great! Need to do some touch up staining on a couple areas to finish that up. Saving the steel butt plate for a later time, when I can find some thinner material to work with. Gotta drill the holes for the MOE Picatinny rails as well this weekend. It's coming along great so far!

How thin you need? I have different sizes and thicknesses here.
Given a width and length I could custom cut you a plate so you'd not have to much to grind off.

Less than 1/16" thick, 1 1/4" wide, and 6 9/16" long. Here's pattern #2 I actually measured out this time.
