Stupid question about Gamo Urban...

I know I'm getting old, and my eyes are what they used to be, but am I seeing things???

I shot my Urban for the first time today.  It was going great, then at around 30 shots, it sounded like it was losing power.  By 35 shots, the pellets were dropping like flies, yet the gauge still shows 3000 psi!

Is there a sticker on the face of the gauge?  Is my gauge broken?

I went to fill it and the gauge on my hand pump showed less than 1000 psi.  After about 35 pumps, it showed 2000 psi, but the dumb gauge on the Urban still shows 3000 psi!

Thinking there must be some stupid sticker on the gauge face, I tried scratching it off with a fingernail, but I can't seem to find what could be an edge of a sticker. 

Am i losing it? 

Another issue I'm having is with the magazine. On some shots I have to ever so slightly pull the magazine out just a smidgen to get some of the pellets to seat in the barrel.  Others slip in just fine.  It's almost like the holes in the rotary carrier in the magazine aren't evenly spaced.  Strangest thing!  Anyone else experience this?

I don't own an Urban nor any PCP for that matter but looking at your photo and noticing the shadow, it appears as though your gauge is either stuck or broken.

I guess I'll be calling Gamo on Monday and see what's up!  If it turns out to be a sticker, I'm going to feel really dumb!

It's not a sticker , unless that is what we call a stuck gauge now

I don't know, my eyes aren't what they used to be, but if it is a sticker, they applied it with gorilla glue!  The surface of the gauge feels like its a plastic shield, like a sticker, but I'll be dang if I can get a hold of an edge to lift it off.  This one really has me bamboozled!

If it shoots those groups normally, it needs to go back NOW. Worst I have ever seen from any pcp, of any make. GRRRR!!!

Hopefully, it is the mag. being out of index and shaving pellets. Otherwise, if the bbl. is not loose in the breach, there are serious problems my friend!

Sounds like I may have gotten a lemon!  I'll have to contact Walmart about a replacement, maybe I'll have better luck with a second one...  I did shoot an e-mail to Gamo Customer service, i guess i can see what they say and then decide if it's going back or not.  At the price i paid, I really don't want to return it for a refund because the price has gone up.  Hopefully, they will send a replacement with a return authorization.

Issues like these make me favor buying from either PA or Airgun Depot...easy returns if needed.

Due to the stuck gauge alone I would return it, but would go through Gamo if possible. I have a feeling Walmart may refund but not exchange. Curious what distance and pellet you used and apologies if you said. I've read other posts that mention magazine issues and a shim was needed for proper alignment. I had issues as well, but mine was a chewed up retaining o ring that ended up breaking. Been waiting 3 weeks for the replacement magazine that should have been her in 5-7 business days

I would go to the local Wally world and explain the issue and ask for an exchange. They can have a replacement shipped in to your local store at no cost to you. the fact that the price has gone up, would not effect an exchange.

At what distance was you shooting at? Agree looks like a shotgun groupings 😳🧐🤔

Yes. I've had this issue.

I found my mag slips into the magazine well too far. I made a paper shim (4 layers, see photo) so the mag won't go in quite so far. The metal back stop for the mag well can be adjusted by loosening two screws on the top of the receiver and moving the back stop ever so slightly.

You might just want to request an exchange. Your Urban should not be doing this.

Yes. I've had this issue.

You might just want to request an exchange. Your Urban should not be doing this.

Thanks Marc!  I e-mailed Gamo with my issue with the gauge and magazine, hopefully, I'll hear back from them the beginning of the week.
