Replaced the 13ci bottle on the Gauntlet with a 23ci one

I'm not quite there yet! Although last weekend we were shooting, and we actually got bored .... on ONE FILL! LOL

I'm not done fiddling with my Gauntlet yet. I want about 200 shots at ~800 fps (JSB 15.86) on one fill (and forget) Getting there. I am currently still hitting my target at around 160-170 shots. The 140 are all at full power at ~860 fps.

Once my valve retainer comes in, I'm going to reduce a .005 shim from the reg, to drop to about 1280psi, and I feel confident I'll get the results I want. Then it will stay that way.

I have another project I want to play with! Now that i have the original 13ci Ninja tank with a reg at 850psi, I want to power my 1077 (yep) and turn it into a bullbup. What else have we got to do .....

At last !!!!, here is my slidecheck PSI output tester ready to work,the only problem I have now is that I'm having surgery on my left shoulder on this week (fracture scapula), so I only have one hand to post and write, be patient.

Ok guys I'm new to this site so bear with me. Just received new 23 ci bottle today. Eagerly went ahead and installed. Man did I have trouble removing old tank from reg. Ended up using belt and vice to hold tank then wrapped electric tape around reg and removed with channel locks. I still ended up chewing up reg. Gonna have to get some black model paint to touch up. Anyway while I had my reg apart i went ahead and threw in x2 .005 shims. Haven't received my gauge kit to test reg psi yet but i figured 0.1 shim shouldn't hurt. Re chrony and averaged 880 to 840 with 14.3 CPHP. Then I figured why not pop in another .05 shim. Now at 925 -906 with E.S. of 19. That should be a real nice velocity for that pellet. Definitely hits harder. So I believe that most if not all gauntlets should be safe to add x3 .005 shims. Kinda wish now that I just saved my money on the ninja slide check psi gauge kit. Hope this info helps someone else.

PS..U can get those shims on Amazon for $4.94 free shipping for 10 pack. 316 stainless steel round shim 0.005" thickness, 3/8" ID, 5 /8" OD. Price even cheaper since I bought. I may end up popping in 1 more for even more POWER!!

Yipes! Be careful! Sounds like you have no clue on what pressure you have! Plus if you jack it up any more you'll probably blow your 1.8k burst disc, which would probably be a blessing, since the gun won't take more than that safely.

Trevor, Listen to WES. It makes your heart rate quadruple when a DISC pops. Make a gauge kit and take baby steps.

A burst disc is something I've never had the pleasure of hearing.  I really should put together a tester for my botttle, I don't really have any near future plans other than maybe on my Sig Saup MPX.

Well guess what guys..I just blew my 1.8 k burst disc. But unlike stated above i never added that 4th .05 shim. I think I may have overfilled gun and put in closet. Heard the loud hissing  noise. Have already ordered 2 more discs. Also I removed x1 .005 shim. Still haven't received my tester gauge from China. Kinda frustrating as I was getting 915 fps with 14.3 gr which is within reason. It seems like I'm learning a lot about working on this airgun as many problems have arose..any body else having problems?

I know i am not saiyng nothing new,but working on paintball regulators without a pressure tester is not suggested,plus a 1,8K burst disk can fail even at 1500psi in some conditions.
A shim can make a big difference in pressure under certain circumstances.
Wait for a reg tester and put a 3K burst disk on if you mind to go over 1400psi

Will do..should be getting tester very soon. So it won't hurt the airgun to use 3k burst disk?

Unfortunately seems nobody sells burst discs rated for intermediate pressures,i don't own a Gauntlet,maybe some expert can say if a Gauntlet has enough safety margin to tollerate a regulator failure.
Regulators fail can happen and will happen,check before proceed,i don't want to point you in a dangerous direction.
