Welcome Tramo! I have an old 48 as well but I had to buy it back from my neighbor after I got hooked again on airguns. Be careful. This site will make you broke.

...And remember to post pics. Even though most of us know what a D48 looks like, we still love to see it again.

Since I moved out into the country about 12 years ago, with ten acres, I don't really shoot the RWS anymore. Have found a nice HMR17 Remmington 597 Magnum to be far supperior, but then I can let loose the noise of a powder gun...

welp, i'm new here too - haven't got an AG yet, just kicking tires.

i'm looking at getting the standard intro 34 .22 cal, wooden stock. - wondering a few things:

1. is there's any break in regimen that one of you could recommend.
2. cleaning / lubrication recommendations
3. is there any benefit to get an AG tuned straight out of the box?
4. probably most important, who's your favorite air rifle dealer?

in answer to your questions:
1-get cheap pellets like crosmans and shoot about 500 of them to get your moving parts worn in and your barrel seasoned.
2-Use goo gone to clean the barrel
3-I would wait to get a tune because it may not be necessary if you are happy with the way your guns shoots.
4-PA is solid. AOA is okay depending on who you talk to. A lot of the smaller places like precision Air guns and R and L have great service. PA is the mainstay for most because they have coupons and stuff to help you out financially. Just google airguns and you will get tons of dealers

Like said above, clean the barrel before you shoot it then shoot it alot if you dont like it or are ready to tinker then tune it. And pyramid air gets alot of my money. Ive used aoa and straight shooters with no problems. Pa is usually less expensive but dont always have what im looking for.

Tramo your pic threw me off a little till i realized your gun was on a couch. It makes your feet look tiny. Lol
