Mine arrived today buds gunshop 563.00 s to my door .cleaned the bore  , first 5 shot over chrony  840 avg with 110 5hp from nsa.  One ragged hole at 20yrds but loud. Pitbull lo g mod on the way

Gotta say the Bulldog has never been on my radar. Evanix multi-shot were about the same price and I'd rather have one of those. But at $552 I have to at least consider the Bulldog option...

I'd wait to hear from the OP on my question of accuracy.  That trapezoid shroud is tied into the alignment of the barrel near the muzzle end.   It is not clear how the OP might have solved that with such a short section of the shroud.  It does have a better look to it, though.

Hmm.....I didn't read through that tread, so I didn't realize there was an accuracy issue with it being shroudless. Thanks for the heads up!

If you look at the schematic, parts 17 and 22 lock the barrel to the shroud, which your optics are mounted to.   The OP may have found a solution, such as drilling out part 17, and sliding it way up on the barrel.   I'd still want to hear if he is getting good and consistent accuracy at 50yds.   I'd also check on what the shroud cost from crosman, just in case you have to revert back.

Now that you mention it I took a closer look and see that there is about the first 8 inches of the shroud on the rifle.  I thought the weaver rail was part of the receiver.  It is definitely not.   I assumed wrong. 

I was hoping maybe someone could come up with a non bullpup chassis and design a weaver rail that would mount on the receiver.  I have read that the optics can shift in relation to the barrel the way that the Bulldog is designed.

Is the stock shroud aluminum or polymer?  Maybe parts 17 and 22 could be secured the the shroud if they were drilled and tapped?
