My AIR 17 is used to shoot BB's. I find it's more accurate with BB's than pellets. Not very accurate with either but it makes a fun can plinker at 50 feet shooting Daisy zinc BB's. I've had several. As I recall, I chronyed one in the high 300's fps. 385 fps or something like it.

Good to know, and I'll relay this info to my dad who's got one coming.
My dad wanted an AIR-17 for a long time so I posted a want add here for him.
 Long story short he was given a fair price for one in overall great condition minus it's missing bb port cover which I happen to have for him off of my old 66.
It has no pellet clip but those are readily available for the 760, plus I can just make a loading block out of a little scrap of wood like I did my 760.

Mine never misses a 12 oz can at 50 feet.....unless I do something wrong.    I'm guessing it does 2" groups at 50'. Might do better with match grade BB's. I've never bothered to target test it on paper. I'm sure your Dad will have fun with it. Not sure what this means but I've had at least a 1/2 a dozen AIR 17's and never met one that didn't shoot great......for what it is. Not a bad track record for 30 year old pumpers. I think Crosman got this cheapo plinker right.

I think he'll have fun without the it, and he's already decided where he will keep it.

Well the gun is certainly out of place here where I'd expect to see a Daisy spittn' image 94 Winchester, but I don't think either are too ugly.

Gotta agree with ya, kzz. That that is one ugly thingy gun. Ditto with the airbolt's that look like that. I like a more traditional, wood-stocked sporter.

I had a bulldog for a short time . It was not as bad looking in person, still not pretty though . The stock is cheap flimsy plastic and it leaked brand new out of the box . Leak kept getting worse never got a chance to shoot it before I got fed up and sent it back . Personally I think the newer hatsan pcps look way worse but I still dislike the bulldog, mostly because of the lack of build quality .

I like a LOT of the Hatsan designs, they have a certain vibe that tickles my fancy. I really love a lot of the Kral Arms stuff, too, those Turks have a way with industrial 'looks' that is somehow appealing...

Not a fan of the Kral Arms "Armour" guns, though, nor the ones that look like Air Force guns, which, as it goes, I also dislike for a variety of reasons including 'looks'..

Lotsa awesomeness alongside the "Whaddafugg?" models in the catalog..

These are a couple of the newer hatsans I was referring too . I like industrial looks as well, although i have no issue with aiforce guns . If the hatsans did not all have auto safteys I'd have a pump action at44 . I'm left handed and it would work out well . For me there is no point is a repeater with a saftey that turns on after every shot . Its annoying in single shots but i can deal with it .

I have several guns with auto safety, and after a few sessions, your brain and finger just takes over and you're not even aware you're deactivating it.
