Or just order the 1500 an then get you a .22 Super Streak barrel from Crosman to mount up? Two for the price of one!?! Well plus the cost of the new barrel an all the little part's,I really don't remember the exact price but something like $35?

Well they tell me the XL .22's are in and mine is on the way, so I guess later this week it should get here.

Well I got the XL today and put through about 50 or so pellets.  I Can't give a good review on it yet but so far...  Other than first shot its pretty quiet about the same as my old Gamo. It does take a bit of effort to cock it indeed but not too bad. Has some recoil to it compared to my other guns but then this is my first springer with this much power. As for accuracy so far its not bad but ....  I hope it will get much better though. I was trying to hit my one 3x3"  spinner I have set up about 45 yards away with no luck so far. Like I mentioned  I have to shoot it alot more to get the hang of it.  The trigger could be nicer on this gun but I like it  better then the one on my Gamo and the XL's trigger is nicer then the one on our Crosman quest 500.  Power wise it is impressive no question. I hope to spend some time with it the next few days to get the hang of it more.

   i would suggest you get you a  grt they make such a improvement over the trigger in it and you can expect to put over a tin of pellets through it before the groups really started to tighten up, took quiet a few patch to clean that china mud out of mine, congratulations on your new shooter i hope you injoy it. thanks david

Yes I've read on here about that trigger mod.  So what does it do exactly... make it a lighter pull or what?

I had the gun out today and had better results, was able to hit all the targets.  Its quite impressive on how it has so little pellet drop over a distance.  When I first got it I was thinking maybe this thing was a bit much power for what I wanted. But now after getting used to it more it's fine for target spinners and stuff too.  Just really packs a punch on those spinners compared to a .177 traveling the same speed lol!  I for sure can't use this .22 XL  in my tin hay sheds!!!! Heck at 100 yards it leaves a *(&^ of dent in the tin walls. At 10 yards away it will blow through no problem and keep going!  I haven't done any hunting with it yet, maybe next week.

It is the best $32 mod you can do Bro.Hayman.An Yes it will make the trigger pull shorter an take it down to about 2lb's(you can adjust it also) I do not know what the trigger pull was like on our XL's as I changed mine over while I was cleaning it when it came in(Yeah I like them that much LOL).

For about $175, you could get a super-light Marlin 981T - a tube-fed, bolt-action .22Long, .22Short and .22LR rifle.  It is pretty accurate and will be perfect for you on the farm.  Unless the county in which you live prohibits discharging a firearm, or if you are prohibited from owning a firearm, this would be the rifle to get for critter control.  Couple that rifle with sub-sonic ceebee rounds and you'll have a rifle with the same sound level as the XL.  The only difference is that you'll be shooting 32 grain bullets at about 900 fps, and not 14.3 grain pellets as you would from the XL.

Acutally I have a Marlin 980  model thats about 4 or 5 years old now and its a great gun. I have a bunch of them CB and subsonic rounds plus more. Yes the cb's are pretty quiet but they do drop in a hurry! Heck you can even see them flying.  I had a Ruger 10/22 with the 30 shot clips years ago too. Now that was a fun rifle for blowing off a brick  or two in hurry lol! I sold it to a buddy who lives out farther from all the "urban sprawl" that we're faced with. I have a 50 lot 1.2 acre acreage developements across the road from me. I just don't like using fire arms anymore unless its needed. So that's where the airguns come in. Also locally we go out now and then for gopher control in pastures. They always let us on the land when we tell them we are only using pellet guns.

Ahhh...okay.  Go with the NP.  It'll generate about 800 fps with 14.3 grain pellets.  And it's a lot lighter than the XL and comes with a smaller stock.  I'm looking at the all-weather NP myself, but not sure if I'm going to buy it till they get all the kinks out of the nitro piston - they tend to go bad after 2000 rounds.
