.22 Swarm 10x system issue...it's not your pellets' fault

  Well,having written a glowing review of this unit,it seems that after 10 or so mags worth,the feeder ejects rather than inserts the pellet. It seems a lot of buyers have had the same issue develop after a period of time.  A quick search revealed that one fellow with this issue holds the 10x mechanism down as he cocks the unit. I tried his method and it works...but a real pain. I have no doubt that GAMO is well aware of this common problem,so I emailed them just now asking for a potential fix.
 
  I'm still liking the gun for it's other attributes and hope GAMO steps up with a fix. Meanwhile I'll keep shooting it while saying unkind things under my breath as I cock it.     Regards  Bryan

    I have twenty or so mags shot through mine. So far no problem. Mine is 22 if it makes a difference.

My problem is loading the magazines!  Especially if using short pellets like CPHP's.  I have to push the pellet in with a small implement to get it over the retaining spring.  If I use longer pellets like the H&N Sniper Magnums, I don't have this issue.  I have never had a issue with the pellet ejecting or failing to feed, however, if I don't pay attention and ensure I fully break the barrel the cocking, sometimes it does not cock the air gun, and I need to remove the magazine and recock it.  Removing the magazine just prevents double feeding a pellet into the chamber!

  Great news,what pellet are you using?

    CP domes, RWS Superdomes, CPHP.  All have fed through the loader without problem. As mentioned, the shorter pellets need  to be seated in the mag.

I've put several hundred pellets thru my .177. Now I have the same problem. The pellet falls out the front of the magazine while cocking or it seems the probe that pushes the pellet into the chamber then pulls it out a little and it falls out while closing the barrel or gets smashed between the barrel and transfer port.

When you say hold the repeater mechanism down do you mean don't let it rise and go down at all?

When you say hold the repeater mechanism down do you mean don't let it rise and go down at all?

Tim, after gently slapping the barrel open,I hold the mechanism down with my right thumb as I finish cocking the rifle...I only need to hold it down briefly and not thru the whole cocking maneuver. I hope this works for you. Looks like gamo may have not thought this through brfore commiting themselves to full scale production.  Thank goodness,it's exceptionally accurate as a single shot,tho I do not need another single shot .22.

I really wanted this thing to work. I had a GRT trigger installed and replaced the gas ram with a spring so it's no longer under warranty.
I wonder if Gamo would sale just the repeater mechanism. Also I wonder maybe the first batch of magazines are bad. A friend was telling me that the first mags. for the Sentry PCP had to be replaced. If nothing else it's an accurate single shot with a 10 oz trigger.

I've got a Proxima on back order. Maybe an underlever repeater will work.

  I have a replacement 10x feeder from GAMO in the works,just had to verify proof of purchase.  GAMO customer service states that this issue pops up on an individual basis unrelated to any particular batch. But with more and more of us experiencing first bliss, and then frustration with this gun,GAMO has to be rethinking that initial reasoning.  I feel bad for GAMO,as this is a really great gun to shoulder and shoot...sure hope the replacement units last when they arrive.       Bryan

Looks like they put the repeater part on a single shot Hornet Maxxim. I only paid $20 more for the Swarm than the Maxxim cost.
Instead of obsessing with this I might just live with a single shot (like I said it's got a great GRT trigger, 10oz, and a spring I prefer) and enjoy the new to me .177 B40 I just got and wait on the Proxima. Later,Tim.

Although I'm supposed to get a replacement from GAMO (email conversation),I have little hope that  it will be a cure. Just now,I tried to cock it and I heard an unpleasant noise. The entire 10x feeder had sprung upwards ,it's now quite visible thru my scope and does not feed at all. Darned if I know what happened.Unless the replacement unit is somehow better,it'll probably happen again. I have a feeling that so many units are going to be returned  by unhappy customers that GAMO will regret rushing this thing into production. Hatsan Proxima,here I come.

I took mine off and took it apart. It's simple. Nothing looks amiss. I may call them or email them. Seems they would want to see a Swarm/maxxim with a spring and GRT trigger. No, probably the last thing they want to see

I hate to see all of the problems. Maybe I missed it but how old are your units? I just received my swarm in .22 a couple of weeks ago and love it. 
    I normally prefer a spring but the gas ram in this rifle is very quick and smooth. Also this rifle is very accurate, 5 shots 10yds 3/8" and I have no problem hitting my spinner at 35-40yds. Favorite pellets are JSB 15.89 and Predator GTO lead free.  I have over 300 pellets through it and going strong.
  Hope you guys get everything sorted out.

Got my .177 Swarm back in January of this year.

I bought a .177 back in the spring and have fired 900+ pellets through it so far without issue (aside from the occasional dry fire and mushed pellet which only occurs for me on JSB Match Diabolo Exact 8.4g pellets).  I'm hoping this isn't a universal problem as it is a very fun gun to shoot and I'd prefer not to use it as a single shot gun as the fun is in the rapid repeat.
