I just tried again and it worked for the free shipping this morning!  I guess i'll have 2 now!  I have a few less than optimal off brand scopes that could be replaced, so it won't go to waste!

Yeah I had low expectations when I ordered it so I am not disappointed too much.  Mine arrived today and it didn't come in a box from the factory like my other BSA scopes (or most of my 30+ scopes).  It came in that clear plastic packaging that is a pain to open.  It's a spare scope anyway in case one of the others breaks, so I am not even going to open it.

It feels very light btw, which can be good or bad...

The $29.99 scope was delivered today.
It looks and feels like a $100 scope.
I wish I had ordered 3 at $29.99 each.

Amazon has them for $41.99 which is a bargain.
Walmart has them for $99.27.

My 1st arrived yesterday, the 2nd is due today.  I think they are well worth the money and as previously stated look and feel like a $100 scope!  One will be going on the Varmint once the stock is completed.  I'm going for the tactical look so may as well mount a scope made specifically for an AR application!  The other will be a spare, or get mounted on the next rifle that comes through the door...

The mil dot cross hairs in this scope are excellent.
They look good and are spaced correctly.
They are 1 mil apart at 10x = 3.6 inches at 100 yards.
They are 0.556 mils apart at 18x = 2.0 inches at 100 yards.
If you run a ballistics program, the mil dots will be correct for 10x.
For 18x you multiply the ballistics program mill dots by 1.8 to get the number of mill dots of correction.
I will run a ballistics program for a gun's most accurate pellet, then copy it to a spreadsheet, then multiply all the mills by 1.8 to get the correction for 18x, then tape the results to my gun stock, then shoot at 18x = maximum power.

You probably need to tighten the 3 set screws in each turret cap.
A small wrench is included for this.
My scope came with the .300 ACC turret cap installed.
When I installed the .223 turret cap, I also tightened the 3 set screws in the left/right turret cap.

The DVOR sale on these scopes has expired.
I called Patrick at DVOR at 800-504-5820 ext 1397 and he sold me 2 more for $33.59 each = $67.18 total delivered price for 2 scopes.

I hope I'm the exception and not the rule, but...my scope failed after less than 50 shots on my Norica Dragon GRS. The reticle canted 20 degrees clockwise. Would not recommend using it on a springer or gas piston rifle.

I was going to ask BSA about that, but now I know.
I will not use these scopes on springers or gas piston rifles.

My scope is kind dark. Any one else has the same problem?
