Tell me about your FWB 124

 I tried a FWB124 in .177 and it worked out great. Having it rebuild now. What can you tell me about this gun? Will post pic when I get it home.

the rails seem to be a weird they are smaller then my hw rails. I am about to send mine out to be rebuilt and am looking for a way to smooth out the trigger, any help on that would be greatly appreciated like a good aftermarket trigger that compares to my HW trigger and would be real happy.

Very accurate, nice shot cycle, nice triggers, beautiful guns.
They are two (out of a small select group)  that I plan to never let go of.

I had one I'd bought from a place called Casanova's Guns in Milwaukee somewhere in the late 1970's. It was amazing how accurate it was. I mostly shot a Beeman pellet, I think it was called a silver sting or something like that. My thinking at that time was how could a pointed pellet not be the best? It had a leather piston seal that needed a drop of oil now and then. Somewhere along the way I sold it. Wish I still had it...

Your are talking about Rob hawkins in NC he currently has one of my hw55 I was thinking of giving him the 124 to tune as well, did he do any trigger work for you on the 124?? how does it compare to a trigger on a hw rifle??

Nice gun, well made and fun to shoot. I found mine with sights along with Beeman scope.

You know....that's the name I was thinking, but I wan't positive, and it's been a few years (and my aging memory is NOT what it once was!)

The only HW I have with the original trigger, is the R7 that is early 80's vintage, but was new in the box when I bought it last May.
That trigger is a little slow and heavy for my preference, but it's okay.
My other HW's have had trigger work done, and the R1 is slightly lighter than I like, but it's a wonderfully accurate and fun gun- another which I will not let go of, in spite of it being a lefty gun. Rob did do some trigger work, but to be honest, I'm not sure exactly what he did. I was still brand new to air guns at the time, and don't recall now. The trigger on it, though, is great. That gun is probably the one I am most comfortable with- probably because I've shot it more than any of my others.
I don't like a super-light trigger. I like it to have just a little bit of predictability. To me, when a trigger is too light, that quality is lost.

What I WILL say, is that in an airgun for my own use, which is mostly for target shooting in the 25-35 y ard range, and for shooting starlings and sparrows at the same distance, that gun is perfect. I couldn't ask for anything I'd like more, that I can think of at the moment.

springgunning is Paul watts. Fwb 124 is a true legend as is Paul Watts.

I have never shot a FWB 124, just been poking around here for awhile.  My understanding is the FWB's trigger is its ONLY weak link.  I'm sure it can be made much better, but I doubt that it can be made near "match grade" like the Rekord can be.
