2 ftlbs, Is it worth it?

If you could swap a part and get a extra 2 ft lbs in a Benjamin marauder, would it be worth it and how much would you pay for it? I am working on a part and need some input.

Sounds like you made up your own mind, since you’re working on the part. If you’re having fun, then the 2 FPE will be worth it to you...provided it gives you the 2 FPE.

Sort of depends on whether that will be pushing my most accurate pellet at 880-890fps.

2 FPE is not much of a performance improvement overall really.  You can shoot unsorted pellets and get that much variance depending on pellet weight used.

LDP makes a good point with his joke. The question has a different meaning if you're asking about an extra 2fpe from a starting point of 12fpe, or 45fpe. A percentage power increase would seem a more relevant means of asking the question. Or at least telling folks your current power level for context. Bumping my Pardini up from 4fpe to 6fpe for use on rats by turning in the striker spring preload bolt (RVA) was obviously a useful (and incredibly easy, took about ten seconds, as it's a built-in feature) 2fpe increase. Worth it, obviously. But if I were currently using that pistol for target shooting it would be a pointless and even counterproductive change, as closer to 4fpe is better suited for paper punching at 10 metres.

Sry I didnt try to come off as not caring or just making a joke. I was serious in my answer along with the joke. Like others have said if you have 20+ fpe already then 2 more is insignificant. If its a lower power setup then yes maybe it would be worth it.

Well, he mentioned a Marauder, didn't mention caliber but 2 FPE on any Marauder isn't gonna make a difference worth working on.

Just looking for some in put, I am working on a modified bolt. I really thought I could get more FTlbs out of it than 2. I am using Benjamin .25 domes 28grain @ 3000psi. The modified bolt did use about 100psi more air. I would like to see more power but don't have the time to really put into it. I just bought a machine shop and I'm still working my normal job until I can get the shop really going. I have a bunch of different size transfer ports I made. I would like to see if that makes a bigger difference. Just something to work on when I can find the time.

I'd be inclined to believe it'd be easier to get that 2 FPE by simply using a heavier pellet & maybe a  smidgen of hammer spring adjustment

No...not worth it to me. If I needed more power, I would just grab a different gun.
